I have heard good things about his products. However, I am starting to hear not so good things about his mail-in customer support.
We discussed that with Seth and he admitted there was a problem. The biggest problem is the riders were mailing the seats to his business without marking their names on the seat. He has no way to know who the seat belongs to.

I have not looked at his webpage where there could be a problem but most of his business understands what procedure to follow. My friend Allen is going fly-in and drop his seat off at the airport. I will do a Ride-in and test it on these roads... https://goo.gl/maps/TwrJyqEMgVH2

The roads look like a good time. I'm going to save that map to reference the next time I am in Northern California. ::001::

I bought the low seat and put the four shorter bumpers on the rear four holes. I then switched the short bumpers back and forth between the two seats and tried like the devil to compare them. I could not detect any difference in foot plant between the two. I rode each seat for ten minutes each on a twisty road and concluded that the stock seat was ever so slightly more comfortable. Concluded that the bumper change made more of a difference than the different seat. I am sending the low seat back on Monday for a refund. Regular seat with four low bumpers along the back seems to be the ticket. EFM clutch will be next.

fwiw - Having done the seat mod to the 2012 and the Seat Concepts to the 2014, my butt likes the Seat Concepts more.

Hmmmm, after reading all 9 pages of this thread, which includes several of my posts from way back when, it sounds like the forward sloping seat is STILL a problem! I still have the 3 plugs I ordered from Boat.net, so I guess I will be using them on my new Tenere!! This is all assuming I stay with the original saddle. Been pretty happy with Sargent saddles on many of my previous bikes.

I did a combination of about five of these threads. I am 6'5" so i did not want to lower anything. What I did was take the 7/8 inch rubber stoppers mention and referenced earlier and put them on top of the "front" 2 bumpers with a washer as support. I put three washers under the seat clip as shown in many threads. Just to remove any looseness I added a piece of felt under the hook tang as shown in many threads. Raised the front of the seat with no fuss.

I tried about 5 different combinations of things listed here and this worked best for me. Total cost about $3.00 and about 3 min per attempt.

Holy cow I'm so happy I found this!

My only 2 complaints about my 2016 is the lack of self cancelling turn signals and the seat angle.

Now I have a fix for at least one of the issues.

I work at a Yamaha dealership and will search the joint for an XV seat, or just order the lower cushions.

Now, if someone could address the turn-signal issue......that would be great!

If you look carefully on your left hand there is something there that will help with the turn signals, I like to call it a thumb, but you can name it what ever you wish, as it is your's ::008::

Just wanted to offer a little cheaper though non-reverseable mod variation I just performed on my 2015 S10 using the low seat setting and stock seat. Rather than spending $15-20 to buy new bumpers, I simply cut the back four bumpers in half using a razor blade. I don't plan to ever-ever go back to the old bumpers and didn't feel like keeping the original ones in my garage for the next 30 years! If anyone attempts this please be careful with the razor, if you have to go to the emergency room this mod will definetley not be cheaper!!

To cut them all the same I found a plastic bottle cap from my recycle bin that the bumpers fit into about 1/2 way then used the edge of the cap as a cutting guide. Rather than using a bumper on the plastic seat tab I used 2 round felt pads with adhesive strips that are used on the bottom of chair legs to protect the floor. They were not quite 1/4" thick and about 1" diameter. I stuck two together and placed them on the plastic tab. With the black plastic piece in the low position the seat fit in perfectly with no up & down movement. It also does not contact the tank. Took me about 30 minutes to cut the bumpers and attach the felt pads. My thanks to the original mod creater, I was really frustrated with the bike as I was always sliding forward and my boys kept getting squeezed, can't wait for the next long trip! ::008::

Still need to solve the self-cancelling turn-signals problem. I looked at the device on Amazon above and it says it only works for bikes with switches on both sides of the handlebars, not with the single switch on the Tenere. :-[

I'm kinda spoiled working at a Yamaha dealership and can purchase OEM hardware at a substantial discount.

I'm also not one to cut, or modify, anything.

Those short dampers did the trick!!!!

Seat nice-n-flat flat and carries me way better then before.

I'm so glad I found this tread before my weekend to Vermont.

It will be a pleasurable ride for sure!

What kind of sheepskin did you find, do you have a link? ::008::

I did the seat mod a mont or so ago with the bumpers and found that it added pressure to my tailbone because of the rear seat being that much higher and caused my rear to get numb. I guess I am going to have to deal with the slant until I can save my pennies for a RDL.

Any one else have this same experience with the mod?

Did the bumper mod last night, quick and easy 10 minute job. Only rode the 46 miles to work today and the seat does feel flatter, didn't notice any other problems. It'll get a good test when I ride to Laguna Seca tomorrow though.
