I'm thinking of using the Air Canada Cargo fly & ride program, my wife and I and one bike. We would take a month and hope to tour England, Scotland and Ireland. I have a few questions:
What weather can we expect in June?
What price should we expect to pay for indoor accommodations? (wifey doesn't camp out)
Is there enough to see to fill a month of riding?

Thanks

Average b&b double room ensuite is about £70-80. Weather can be anything. Pack wet for wales and Scotland. Prevailing wind is SW from the Atlantic. Temp might get to 20 Celsius.

In Republic of Ireland,as opposed to Northern Ireland (in U.K.) prices for B & B run around €70 - €80 double on-suite. Weather totally unpredictable. Expect some rain or drizzle. Temp, Low to Mid 20 C. Eating out 3 course meal €20 to €25p.p. Very Important Pint Guinness between €3.50 and €4.40. Petrol €1.35 ltr. (1Canadian $ = €0.69)

More than enough roads for a month of riding...

You have the NW500 in Scotland.. The Yorkshire Dales.. Snowdonia and North Wales.. Brecon and Mid Wales.. The Cotswolds.. Exmoor Dartmoor and Cornwall.. The Jurassic Coast... Norfolk... You could even nip over to Normandy and do the beaches... Thats a week there..

I have loads of road maps and gpx routes for some of these areas if you'd like them let me know...

As for the weather .... Well... At the moment April should be wet and a bit cold, but we're suffering dry, warm and sunny conditions... June can be pot luck i'm afraid.. Our Summers seem to be getting later and later..

Expect to pay anywhere between £70-_£100 for the pair of you for a good room with breakfast... try and stay outside the touristy areas and save some money for fuel and coffee stops..

Use trip advisor and get the benefit of booking hotels & B&B on the go and get the best prices on the go. We do this when on vacation and hardly ever pre-book so you are not tied down to a location that's just too far away!

If Canada is anything like the US, mobile phone tariffs are extortionate, so it might be worth while picking up a prepaid (pay as you go) sim card. Data and phones calls within the EU are dirt cheap if using a UK sim card.

i live in Dubliun, IE.

Let me know if you need any pointers. Dublin is getting very pricey ( 100 -200 euro per night depending if there is a big concert on etc ) , hotels milking the market, but you can get good accommodation if you book ahead.

AC have a direct flight daily to Dublin and you can ferry hop to the UK hany enough. Say go from Dublin, out on a ferry through belfast, short hop to Scotland, then down through UK and return to Dublin from Wales ( Holyhead port ) . Be like a big loop, then back out through AC again. Ferries are cheap enough, around 80 euro each way tops.
