Those are nice looking cases. All we need now is a bike to put our stuff on. ;D

Mellow,

Those look very good. Could you post a pic with the lid up, so I can see if they are shipping the latest versions that I saw at Indy? If I could see a pic loking down at the top of the box with the lid up, I think I can tell.

Also were they able to send you matching locks?

Thanks

Here ya go... I actually put some sealant around the lid corners just because I'm picky.. you can see they used some any way but what can I say - can't leave well enough alone.

The locks are all matching and I got 3 sets in case I decided to go with the top box... they aren't the best quality locks and they require you lock it to close the lid as the key won't come out with it in the unlocked position.

Thanks, Joe,

I am still undecided. I was leaning toward the Trax until I saw the H&B Xplorers at Indy, as their locks and hinges looked very good. However, I now understand that if you have a problem with the plastic hinges on the Xplorer, you are screwed, as they are molded into the plastic case. Looks like the Trax hinges are riveted in and it appears that you could replace them if need be.

Congrats. Those cases look nice. I am leaning toward them also but seeing those locks they don't look to secure. Just a bent rod to snap them closed. I thought I saw other pics of them with different lock closures.

Can you explain the difference between the old and the new versions?

They didn't go into depth explaining the changes to me at Indy, just told me that a new model was out, but one area that is obvious to me can be seen by comparing the two shots looking down from the top and notice the difference in the sealing gaskets.

The rep that was showing them to me said he had run the older models for two years with no problems, but normally when a product is changed, there is a reason. I took pics of both models and when I got home and looked at them, I could see a difference in that area and it looks to be an improvement to me.

Hmmm... interesting as to why I would get an older model on a new order...

Inventory...

I would question that one. They probably assume most people would not have the info on the new version.

Does any one know if the locks have been changed between the new and old version?

just checked SW-motech site and they are different now.
I had not noticed that change. This is the only one I got that shows a bit of the lock and I think it looks like the new style.
