I think it’s to do with the batteries not the units. My original batteries lasted ages but when I replaced them the new batteries only lasted half as long. I now use Varta batteries and they have lasted ages too. I prefer Garmin. I bought a bout 10 TomTom units for work and they all failed very quickly and there was no product support to get them repaired. Tomtom seem to be a bit Micky mouse whereas garmin have been making marine and air nav systems for years

That should be the problem. Button-type batteries are not all the same, maybe if they are the same in size, but not in their internal composition. They come LR, CR, BR, SR, PR .... some are suitable for temperature and vibration, others are not

NO, not the battery.

Bateries from same blister packing, works in the last TPMS I got from Garmin. (and correct battery as from Garmin instruction)
I'm absolutly sure that about 1/3 (my best guess) of the TPMS sensor are defect. At least from early production...
