I'm using this, I love it, seems spot on. Hard as hell to set up, but just keep pushing the buttons, you'll get there. But runs for ever, I've only had to recharge once this Summer. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B076KKYDRQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Those are the same as I have but I got the ones with black caps. I have been using mine for a season and a half with no issues. About 10,000 miles on them so far. Next time I change tires I will put metal stems on to be safe, but I don't fear the rubber ones. Lots of high speed highway miles too.

Many thanks for your help. I'll probably invest in a set in the near furture

I see that metal tyre valves have to be tightened down with a nut. Is there space to do this or did you have to 'modify' the rim that the spokes hook into?

Cheers

Mike
Another option is to get a set of the Colby Valve Permanent Valve Stem Replacements. I keep a set of these on my bike at all times:

There is also the Circuit Performance VS33 stems. I have a set of these as well ready to go on next tire change. For now I'm still running on the OEM rubber valve stems and Garmin valve cap sensors. I'm still really nervous every time I go off road with my bike. All it would take is one small rock to rip off the stem....

I have also seen these advertised on eBay... what caught my eye was the tyre sensor. It is long and slim and the hex look high enough that you dont have to file away your rim to get a spanner on it to tighten it down.

My only concern is the how well the sensor seal to the rim... the diagram shows that the there is only 1 rubber washer and that goes on the outside of the rim under the lock nut.

any one fit one yet to an S10 rim?
The seal goes inside the rim. The nut can sometimes go down metal on metal, or in many cases down onto a washer.

I have been using FOBO Bike2 TPMS for over a year. Bluetooths to your cell phone and will send you a message if the pressure ever falls below or goes above limits that you set. It has worked fantastic. Next time I have the tires off, I am going to install their metal 'T' so I don't have to take the sensor off to add air.

I find it nice that I don't have to find space on the handlebar for a display.
