Ok those of you with stock ecm's, do you ride in touring or sport mode? For the 1st 1500 miles I rode in touring mode, but now I'm finding myself riding in sport mode all the time. S mode doesn't seem to hurt fuel mileage, even though I know it has to affect it some because of me twisting the throttle a little more. I like the peppiness of the S mode. maybe someday I will send off the ecm and have it flashed. So let me hear what you prefer... This isn't a debate thread this is about ones preference the only right is what's right for you.

I've had two S10s, a '12 from new in '11 and a '15 that I bought used with 2k miles on it. I always run in S. T has always felt laggy and odd with more twist than necessary required to get the same results. Once I adjusted to the fine wrist control required to be smooth in S mode, I never went back to T mode. If I accidentally bump it into T mode, I start slightly missing my rpm match during shifts and the bike feels off, then I notice I'm in T mode and switch back.

I use both T and S but would guess about 90% T, mpg does seem a little less in S but not a lot, T seems a little smoother is probably why I prefer it. My main ride is a GL1800 Goldwing and that bike with It’s 6 cylinder engine is probably the king of smooth and wide power band.

I know you didn't start the thread. Lost in translation. Just meant after this thread runs its course, if you or I wanted to start another oil thread? Bad joke. I'm a bit snarky since it's been raining here for the past 5+ days and my Tenere hasn't seen much action. I apologize if I came off a bit douchey.

Anyway, I'm the guy that salutes others and yourself that have mastered S-mode on a non-flashed Tenere. I tried for 10,000 miles before i gave into Anthony's Flash and haven't looked back. Of course it is all personal preference.

Enjoy the bike and enjoy the ride. Have fun everyone

It's all good and I would have been disappointed IF someone hadn't brought up"an oil thread" lol I didn't take any way other than a good ribbing :) I'm toughed skin, I've been on a lot of different forums over the years...

Some ribbing is fun. And just to be consistent with what I said and offered in the other Flash or non-Flashed threads, even on different Forums, if you would like to take my flashed S10 for a spin while I ride yours, the offer is still good. I'm in Central NJ and willing to ride at least 2 hours to meet. It gives me an excuse to ride somewhere and to meet a fellow forum member. Win win.

And I ride in Touring mode in the rain.

Stay safe out there.

Touring mode standard, especially with city and two-up riding. Sport mode when riding on my own with ideal conditions. Might change once I really dug my roots into the saddle of this bike. Person I know from work just died in a motorcycle crash, coworker broke his collar bone -- I am happy the bike offers a mellow throttle response under current weather conditions. Helps keep the overconfidence low.

I can't deal with riding it in T mode...yuck, feels like the throttle is connected to a bungee cord. I suppose I should get the ECU reflashed, I have never been a big fan of the power delivery of this bike coming off a Triumph 955i Tiger. That triple was a beauty of an engine, absolute hoot to ride.

My bike is unflashed. I use T for the first few rides of the season before I get my throttle hand memory back. Also if I'm tired and find myself bucking at low speed from the crappy fuelling.

The other 95% of the time, S

Gen 2 and I use both T and S modes, (although not both at the same time!). For me, it just depends how I want to ride at that particular time, if I am touring around or trickling around town in traffic, then it would be in T mode. On fast open back roads or on mountain passes, then it would be in S mode.
