They sure seem to be getting carried away installing roundabouts these days, some freeway exits make you go through 3-4 roundabouts in order to get where your wanting to go, those situations make a GPS an extremely important tool when your in unfamiliar territory.
You guys must be spilling alot of Cola going around them.

Around here, you can see where the texters have gone straight over them.
yes I have seen where quite a few accidents have happened because of folks simply driving to fast into a roundabout.

couple years ago when I was coming up to a roundabout i witnessed an elderly lady make a left turn into and out of a roundabout, she was kinda lucky I realized what was happening and stopped without entering, I was the only other vehicle there at the time.

I ride my 18 in S mode pretty much all the time...I love the heavy engine braking but thats just me...
When I bought my KTM 300 XC in 2014 I immediately installed the red spring for max power..
Whatever fits your riding style is the right choice.

Here’s an observation. I have done a few long trips, (between 1500 and 2200 miles) and I tend to use Touring mode when I am on small roads in U.K. and Europe and when I am touring, I like to see where I am and where I have been, I don’t just hurtle from A to B so I use the more gentle throttle mapping. I tend to get fuel consumption in the region of 53 - 56 mpg, (and these are the larger Imperial gallons not USA ones), and I have always been quite happy with that. Last month, I did a 1200 mile trip in U.K. and, out of curiosity, I used Sport mode for the whole trip. I rode on U.K. A and B roads and some motorway mileage too. I didn’t check my fuel mileage over the 4 days I was away but I did check when I got back home. It was 61 mpg. Yes, I was surprised too because I was riding more aggressively than I usually do when touring and I also had my Givi Dolomiti 3 box luggage on too. I have thought about this difference in mpg quite a bit since and I can’t work out why I should get better fuel mileage riding in a more “sporting” fashion than I do when taking it nice and gentle.

I just replaced my switch assembly. The switch was broken and would default to touring mode 75% of the time when turned off. A small plastic tab looks to have broken off on the switch. $80 later and a new switch assembly is installed. I could have had this replaced under the extended warranty, but after other experiences with the local Yamaha shop and the lack of quality techs, I did it myself. 7C24E4BF-498A-4BAA-85D4-57A8D5B5F2B0.jpeg

ok here is an Update.... almost 28,000 miles now, I never ever take it out of S mode, I like everything about it. I live in the south so I pretty much ride 12 months out of the yr. One thing that has helped with the throttle and this sounds crazy is I added grip puppies to help with the vibration and hand going numb. But what I found out is they help with throttle control. I know a lot has to do with muscle memory and it may be in my head... One thing is for sure, the S10 is the most fun bike I have ever owned. My wife rides a Spyder and she says"I can tell you are having a great time when we are riding"

There's another mode? My opinion is that as you get more used to the throttle, the less "twitchy" it is. But, it also could be that the Grip Puppies allow your hand to work better, an therefore allows you to work the throttle better. Regardless, I agree, she's my favorite bike ever . . . . fun even when I'm not going anywhere cool/fun.

Used to be of the mind that S was the only option, but out of the blue I had a thought to try it a couple weeks ago and found it to be really enjoyable and well suited to the 80mi remaining in the ride. Prior to that that I'd only experienced it in protracted heavy rain where it offered measurable surety.

I've had my S10 for 5yrs now, when I first had it I couldn't use sport mode, far too snatchy so I got used to T but when I was advanced training I found it difficult to vary the speed consistently, it was very flat so wnakk throttle inputs don't do enough so I went back to S and I've learned to ride with that, its not snatchy at all once you get used to it.

I've had the bike for a month. Went on a ride this weekend with a bunch of sport bike folks super into leaning way over on the curves. I managed to do fairly well keeping up and leaned it way the hell over. But I just realized I did the whole thing in Touring mode. DOH! Gotta try that Sport mode out again.

By a strange coincidence, I put that traffic light tree up a few years ago. It was originally at canary Wharf, but was dismantled and stored in containers for many years until we put it back together and got it working again. It's sitting on a 45 feet deep concrete pile.10550007_10203719232195830_304011004165382410_o.jpg10565109_10203719227675717_6989362303506321228_n.jpg10575121_10203719206275182_5632709724428709193_o.jpgP1160558crsm.jpgP1160563sm.jpgYMCA.JPG

She's a lot more stable leaned over than one would think. And, her low rpm grunt moves you through the twisties with very little effort. My kid has an R6. That thing doesn't even wake up until it's rpms are past the Tenere's red line. "S" mode is where the magic happens.
