Torque Specifications

Is there a post somewhere that details the torque specifications for most / all of the fasteners on the bike? I did a search and read through the topics in the Technical Discussion section and could not find anything.

During the installation of my skid plate, I had to remove the kickstand and an engine mount bolt. Also, I have a set of fork protectors to install but will need to remove a brake bolt to remove a reflector that is in the way. I want to ensure I get those tightened back to the correct torque.

Thanks

Howdy,
You need to get a shop manual. There are a lot of torque specs. for a bike of this size, hard to put together in a post.

I came from the V-Strom world over to the Tenere world, was a member of Strom Troopers. I had a 2008 650, which was a very sweet bike. On the Strom Trooper site we had a file, 2-3 pages, which was all torque specs. And it was great. Print out those pages, throw it in your maintenance file, and it made it very easy to find torque specs for everything without going online or thumbing through a manual. I came upon this thread hoping I could find the same thing for my 2018 Tenere. No luck yet, so I have just ordered the shop manual.

Must admit I've also been surprised at the lack of a manual on the forum, however a bit of googling revealed a free online service manual for the Gen I bikes....better than nothing I guess....?

That's because it's a US trademark infringement to post proprietary factory service manual info on the forum.

Frankly, if you need specific torque specs for certain fasteners, ask. But if you're doing regular maintenance work, just buy the manual. You'll use it plenty enough to justify the cost. And yes, I do have the printed FSM, and did for the last three Yamaha bikes too. All sold when I sold the bikes, and re-couped most of the cost then.

+1 on the factory manual. I have ordered one for every bike I have ever owned. And they get used. Sometimes I keep them (if friends have the same model) sometimes they go with the bike.

Covered with greasy finger prints from front to back...like I like.

Hi, I know it is being a few weeks after last reply, but I think I do have a table that is a general rule for torques, hope it helps!
