When I switched out my Gen 1 for a leftover 16 Yellow last year, my wife decided to like the bike too much. She didn't want me beating it up like I had the past 2.

I had been eyeballing the Tiger 800 and really liked the 14 SE with the red frame. So, I decided to get something a little smaller and slightly older to beat up. Found a good one in the northeast and after a little while we went up to get it. It was as beautiful in person as I had thought it would be. I have had it for a month now. not had a chance to take it out on a real ride, but have done some excursions on it. At first, I was very timid with it. not sure why. maybe it was so pretty. that gorgeous girl that you don't want to dirty up.
But that is fading and I am pushing it a little more now. still only have a couple hundred miles on it.

And the reason I am posting this is because, it is not close to the Tenere. It is loud and vibey. heard people complain about the XT being vibey, but there is no comparison.
It is somewhat weak. One of my mantra's is that a dirt bike must be able to pull up the front. this is only a safety issue. obstacles abound off-road and you have to be able to hop over them. I am sure that you can wheelie the Tiger, but it does not pull hard enough to be worry free in this respect.

It is more nimble, there is no doubt it flicks a corner quicker.

I should have bought a gen1.... again

Anybody want to buy a tiger. She is a beauty!
