Tie down points on the ST

Folks,
I have a noob question about strapping down the ST for it's ride home from the dealership.
I'm about to pull the trigger on my purchase but the dealer is out of town so I will go fetch it with my enclosed trailer.
Not having a bike to look at, I don't know where on the front of the bike can I find hard points for strapping it down.
On my HD and my Indian I can put straps on the bars for strapping down the front, but with the fairing on the ST, I'm not sure I can use the bars.
Where do you recommend I tie it down in both front and back?
I've got Etrak and a WheelDock in the trailer so I can adjust the tie down points in the trailer as needed.
Thanks,
Sorb

I start with the wheels. If they can't turn then the bike only needs to be restrained side to side. There are also no suspension concerns if you tie to the wheels.

For the from once the wheels won't turn, you can use Canyon Dancer bar straps or go to the lower triple clamp on the far fork to keep from touching plastic. if the bike has crash bars, get as close to the frame as possible.

For the rear, be aware the bracket for the passenger peg can break. Plenty of other choices.

Lower triple tree and handlebar close to the clamps. Then you have 2 for safety. One on each side of the subframe at the rear or one looped around rear tire to stop side movement. I like to use the soft loops up front.

Just make sure not to over compress the front forks when strapping down the front by the lower or upper triple clamps.

If it's a '14 or newer you shouldn't go to the bars, the rubber dampers don't like it. +1 on the lower triple.

Bottom of the triple clamps for me also. In the rear, I use either the passenger grab handles near the bolts, or just inside of them is part of the base plate on the rear seat, it has two thin slots that stick out, that also work great.

FYI, those passenger peg brackets are very expensive. If you're going to tie the rear end down, I would go around a frame section.

Thanks for all the awesome advice. The good news is that I switched dealers and will ride an ST home tomorrow.
