I looked around on here before posting this link to a different throttle lock than I have seen on the forum. I am cheap and probably will not buy this either since I haven't already bought the Kaoko lock. But for those interested this might suit some riders needs.

I cam from riding a Goldwing to the Tenere and if the tenere had Electronic cruise control it would be the perfect bike. IMHO

It is similar to http://www.brakeawayproducts.com but I think this would work on the Tenere where as of yet the Brakeaway will not???

I use the Go Cruise throttle lock. It is inexpensive and works very well on the S10.

Sorta looks like a Vista Cruise with the added feature of a brake lever disengagement. Interesting. Expensive.

I usually put Throttlemeisters on bikes, but on the S10, the Go-Cruise works so well, I'm not doing anything else. I often slap the GC on my sportbike and use it over the installed TM.

I am actually thinking I might do the Omni-Cruise same principal as the go cruise except the thumb set seems less intrusive to the operation of the throttle but I do like the idea of throttle lock kicking off when brake is applied.

markjenn - what size Go-Cruise did you get for the SuperTen stock grips? I measured my grips with calipers and then bought the large size as per their website sizing guide. It will not hold at all. I have multi-wrapped a thick rubber band around the Go_Cruise out forward of the bar and it now does a decent job - albeit with a little creep as you ride. I am wondering if I should not have gotten the smaller of the two sizes. If so, maybe this post will help other SuperTen riders considering the go cruise.

You want the smaller size for 7/8" bars. Basically, any bike gets the smaller size unless its a cruiser/Harley with 1" bars. I'd return yours and get the smaller one rather than screw around with trying increase the diameter of the mating surface.

::026::The one for the 7/8 or sport bike is just the right size for the S10.

True dat in retrospect but I calipered the bars and they were bigger than 1".
The bars are tapered They're 1-1/8" at the clamps, but 7/8" at the ends where the grips go. Obviously, the grip end is what counts with respect to proper sizing of a throttle lock.

Markjenn - the GoCruise mounts tothe left of your hand on the right grip so closer to the switches and not near the grip end. I calipered right where the Go Cruise should go and still managed to buy the wrong size. Oh well... my rubber bad fix works for now. maybe I can unload this wrong sized one and get the smaller one.

I am obviously coming to the SuperTen from the KLR end of the spectrum rather than the GS end, eh?

The bars are a consistent 7/8" through the entire straight area from the switchgear/perches outboard. That's the whole idea of "pro-taper" style bars - that everything that clamps to them out by the grips is a standard 7/8" while you get the benefits of a stronger/fatter bar where it clamps to the triple. Some think they also are better for vibes - the varying diameter helps avoid resonant frequencies.

Sorry, but if you measured +1" close to the switches/perches, you measured wrong. Maybe there is some confusion here about bar diameter vs. grip diameter. Certainly the grip diameters are bigger. Go Cruise generally specs their two models by handlebar diameter, but also has some guidelines about grip diameter in their FAQ's.

FYI Omni-Cruise is offering a 10% discount right now because they are out of the little silicone sleeve that goes on the grip. They will ship the unit right away and when the sleeves come in they will ship that out. You don't even need the sleeve if you have rubber grips....Saves ya $5. I assume the offer is off the table once he has the sleeves in stock which is suppose to me early March.

I know this is old, but are you using the Go Cruise composite lock ($20) or the high dollar aluminum lock ($32)? Lol.

I sell both in my shop go with the aluminum one, it will be with you until your an old man and the cheap ones are bad about breaking. Another plus is that the aluminum one is adjustable so you can get a perfect bite on the grip. They do a great job.

Composite. 20k miles later and no issues. Saved my hand on the TAT big time last summer. Notch it with a hacksaw and put a ziptie on to "customize" tension. My KLR roots showing thru....

sent from my phone with fat thumbs. please forgive my typos
