There is only one ABS pump/valve/solenoid. That said, fluid flows via different routes. It wouldn't hurt to flow some of the fluid thru the ABS block from the front brakes as well as the rear. Front has a larger reservoir and the ABS block has something like 6 lines into it.

These bikes will do 100K miles without a worry or missing a beat. At your mileage you have nothing to think about. I haven't heard of a single Gen 2 CCT failure but am also interested in what the expected life of one might be. I have already purchased a new cam chain to install at my next valve check (will be somewhere around ~130K miles). Wasn't even considering replacing my Gen 2 CCT with 90K miles at that time though.

Your other question on longevity...I would say 200K+ miles is a very conservative and reasonable expectation.
I have a 2012 that had the original CCT replaced at 76,000 miles. I know I got the absolute max life out of it, because it failed the day before it was scheduled to be replaced! The new 2014 version was dead quiet for a long time, but then with around 60,000 miles on it, I started noticing some noise. Not willing to take a risk, I replaced with the new 2017 version.

I think they are cheap enough to replaces every second valve check, so I'll do that if there is any indication at all of problems with the '17 version.

Cam chain is original and seems good.

That's kind of my thinking. Even though I have a 2015, I'm going to replace the CCT at the next 52,000 miles + valve clearance check if I need to make any adjustments. If everything is found in spec, I'll leave it alone for now. Not only that but replacing it avoids the hassle of reloading it.

Is there a link on how to cycle the ABS using the diagnostic connector - I have not been able to find the procedure. I have the diagnostic plug for the FJR and presume it is a similar idea - thanks

Like SilverBullet, I can't recall ever reading about a CCT failure on a 2014 S10...
Mine failed - but it's likely I caused the failure somehow unwittingly. It worked fine, I took everything apart for a valve check and re-set the CCT. When I put it back together, it was noisy, so I took it apart and re-set it again and verified everything. Next start was it's last as timing jumped a few teeth.

I now have a Graves manual CCT. For the cost, peace of mind, and ease of install, it's a no-brainer, IMO. If I end up with another S10, I'll probably do it again. Once bitten...

That said, I think there are few actual cases of CCT failure, and the noise it makes before dying warns you to get off your butt and deal with it. Ignoring that noise for a long enough time is what leads to catastrophe.

AFA longevity, everything wears. At some point every seal, bearing, gear, and valve will need to be replaced. I think if you run normally and keep up with scheduled maintenance, it will go forever, like a two-wheeled Ship of Theseus.
