I am starting a new thread as an FYI since the other thread got off topic discussing the current E07.

I like the look of the new tire and am anxious to try it. Only seeing a size available that does not fit the Tenere, I emailed Mitas UK asking about availability of a size 150/70-17 for the rear of the Tenere. They replied promptly that the new tire is being produced in this size and "will be available within the next couple of months, certainly by April". I am looking forward to trying one as it looks like it could have better off-road capability and I like the dirt.

You get some crazy mileage (to me) out of your tires, David. My current E07 Dakar has about 6500 miles and there isn't much left on it, to me anyway. I prefer better performance for my style than mileage out of a tire. My stock rear was pretty much done at 5k miles. Looking forward to this new tire.

Well it is definitely a compromise same as tire type. My current rear tire has almost exactly the same miles on it as yours. I'll be leaving it on for a 3-4K mile trip and not a second thought about replacing it first. I get decent performance to 10K usually and then another 2-3K good mainly for dry pavement and gravel roads. If I want to ride off road at that point I'll swap out to another rear wheel with fresh rubber on it. When back home and riding dry pavement I will swap the high mileage wheel back on to burn off the remaining miles.

I believe you are correct. Mitas updated their website and looks like it's now called the 07+.
Well I was almost set on the Motoz GPS as my Motoz ADV Tractionator will be done mid year I'm guessing. This new Mitas + has me thinking different now as I loved the original E07. Think I'll sit back and wait for the reports on this one before making a decision.
The good thing about these adv tires is if you don't like them once you put them on, just give it about 8k and you can buy new ones..lol

Man, I'd sure like to know where you guys ride that you can notice such differences with what kind of tire you have on the Tenere. I've ridden the nastiest shit imaginable with tires ranging from Pilot Road 4's to TKC 80's and can barely tell any difference in the way the bike handles, and what it can go through. If it's muddy, the bike slips and slides just as much with knobbies as any other tire, and if it's not, the PR4's stick just as well as anything else. The ONLY exception that I have ever found is wet grass (kinda like the camping field at Romney's after it has rained) where a tire with an aggressive tread makes a noticeable difference, but having said that, there are hard packed and slimy rock areas, like riverbeds, where the PR4's work better than aggressive tread patterns, so it's kind of a wash. I am not insinuating that there is no difference in tire choices, especially with lighter off road bikes, where tire type makes a huge difference, but with the weight of this bike, it's quite tractable with any tire, and quite limiting with how hard it can be ridden.

I have also been following the release of this new tire size by Mitas and I've also gotten the same info. from the local supplier that these two new sizes and tread pattern should be available for sale by the end of March.
These two new larger sizes of the E-07 that many of the newer bikes run, along with the 150/70-17 and 150/70-18 will be released as the E-07+ at that time. There was no info. confirming whether there would be a tread design change for the 150/70-17 and 150/70-18 sizes yet.
They did comment that they expect tread life to be better than the existing model E-07

I tend to somewhat agree with scott123007. I have gone pretty much anywhere I wanted to go on the stock tires too, with lots of off roading here in CO. We (3 Tenres) did the COBDR a couple years ago, with one buddy on the stock tires, another on the Shinko 705's & me with the Shinko 804/805 combo. 2 of the hardest parts for the stock tires being the mud north of Dolores & the 1/4 mile long sand pit outside of Buena Vista. The stock tires made it about half way thru the sand, the 705's almost half way & the my 804/805's all of the way thru. Other than those 2 sections on that trip, there were no traction problems. 2 of us have converted over to the Mitas Dakar E07's. I have about 12-13k on the front that I put on for our Alaska trip last summer. The rear could have lasted longer than 10-11k if I was just street riding. I have about 10k on another rear E07 on the bike now that looks better than my buddies same tire with 8k. I have another front with 8k that still looks new. With the variety of our riding in CO, street, rocks, dirt, mud, snow etc, I would rather have a little bit more bite than not. It will be interesting to see how the new 7+ holds up.

Just mounted a new EO7+ Dakar last night. Will report back once I get a chance to ride on it a bit.
Replacing a K60 with, which technically still had some life in it. Just wanted some fresh rubber in advance of some trips this summer.

Where is a good place to order a set of E07 Dakar’s from ? I will most likely be using a set for the Inuvik trip in August.

I just bought my rear tire from Revzilla. Sign up so you get the Revzilla cash. I don't think they make an e07+ front for the Tenere. The regular e07 is a great front tire though.

I also just mounted my e07+ and will be taking it for a test Memorial Day. It will see serious twisties on the pavement and some good dirt here in northern CA (Hwy 36 and Hayfork area). I'll give a report later.

Also, not to offend some of you guys but... I do appreciate the performance on these tires over the stock or "street oriented" tires. I can't believe you notice little or no difference. Heck, I'm inviting you to come and ride with me and maybe have a new appreciation for these tires. I guess it can all be subjective or a matter of opinion.

Peace.

I looked at revzilla and I'm a bit confused... eo -7 , eo-7+, eo-7 Dakar, that is what I'm seeing......neighbor showed me his new eo-7 yester day , it is a + , says nothing about Dakar , a good looking tire none the less....will work great on his 701 husky.

E-07+ does not come in a Dakar version. Shred can you photo or type out the info from side of tire please? Plies sidewall, plies tread, etc.

I put a set of E-07's front (110/80/19 and rear (150/70/17 for a trip last year to Alaska. Put 10,500 on rear, might have been able to get a little more, but made a trip last weekend and did not want to take a chance far from home so I put a new rear tire on. Front tire has 11,100 on and still going strong. It will be interesting to see what kind of mileage the E-07+ gets.

I believe this is the Dakar version that’s only available for the rear, it’s supposed to have a stiffer more durable sidewall. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mitas-e-07-dakar-tires

Here is the rear EO7+ , supposedly it’s designed for large dual purpose bikes like ours and it’s also only available for the rear.

This is the front Mitas EO7 that fits the Tenere

None of these tires are radials like come stock on the Tenere these Mitas E07’s are all bias ply tires.
I also recommend watching the Revzilla video and read the reviews to learn a little more about these Mitas tires.

I have had eo7 dakars , it was and is the top of the line mitas front and rear.... so what I'm asking where does the plus fit in.... is it between the 7 and the 7 Dakar ... or is it a new and improved Dakar , or is it just a better eo-7 and the Dakar still top tire.... is the water muddy enough ?

The Plus is a Big Block design using the chevron pattern of the ordinary E07. Neither better or worse one over the other. The Plus is advertised as being designed for the bigger heavier machines.
