Because these places exist:

And because the next gas station may be closed.
Don't let the sign scare you. There's another gas stop at Yukon River Camp just 120 miles south of Coldfoot. Sure, it's crazy expensive, and walk between where you pre-pay and the pump quite a hike, but it's all worth it.

You may not know, but these guys have started a T-7 forum. . . . exactly like this one. Obviously for everything T-7. Yamaha Ténéré 700 Forum (yamahatenere700.com) You'll have to register there too, but you can use all of this site's name & password info. It's still kinda small, because the bike is still relatively new.
Thanks for reminding everybody. The only advertising we do around here is word-of-mouth. The T7 forum has definitely been slow to get off the ground, so to help it grow I'd say please let people know it exists and encourage folks to check it out. If it gets some traction it'll become a great info source just like this forum did.

Just like post #1 from venture I am seriously interested in this bike. So today I got to ride it at my Yamaha dealer. I want a Rally (awesome colors and accessories!) but they only had one to look at since it was sold but I could ride a beautiful red/white.

Rally:

I took her on and off-road and she didn’t disappoint! Totally different compared to the S10 but very capable, good power with a quality feel all over. Blasting the sand/dirt roads was no problem. Easily hitting 90km/h on above roads with 100% control. Proper dirtbike but the Scorpion tires just don’t like loose sand I noticed. On the Tarmac it is a fine cruiser with good handling, braking and feedback. Yamaha built a very good allround bike. Now the thinking, pro’s and con’s and finding a way to justify the purchase start.

I had a T7 and sold it in June. I found this bike to be a confused motorcycle, its butt numbing seat made me ride the S10 more and its weight made me prefer the lighter dirt bikes for the trails.
It really depends what your looking for but IMO the T7 is neither a great bike at both and just dabbles in both. Unless your a PRO rider, which i'm not. While the S10 IS a fantastic long distance hauler on the tarmac or FSR. For anything beyond FSR, my choice is the lighter dirt bike.

I think there is a car for rent. Haven't heard of motorcycles. Be careful there, there are huge fines for damaging nature)) If you drive along the beach, a person will appear who will level the sand with a rake)))
