Pity he was'nt in it ::015::

I absolutely know how strongly Tesla and SpaceX employees either love or hate working the long hours at those companies. When I first asked one if she'd met Elon, she said "yes," rolled her eyes, and that he is totally intense in everything he does. That it's not an ego thing, more that because he has all this money he truly believes that he is obligated to do as much good with it as possible and expects others to as well.

COOL.
Buy especially cool about the re-use of the "lifting rockets"

I was impressed how two of them landed perfectly where they were supposed to. But....the third....not so much. ::017::

Call me a cynic, but I was wondering quite what Tesla customers waiting patiently for their Model 3 to arrive might have said when they watched the Space X launch. Probably not fit to repeat on this august forum.

However exciting the Elon Musk adventure may be, it will surely fail if he doesn't sort out production woes at Tesla short term. The share price still beggars belief. Big Auto is starting to think outside pure plug-in electric power, given infrastructure/generation concerns, maybe leaning towards hydrogen fuel cell linked PHEV as a more practical alternative.

SpaceX and Tesla are totally different companies, and the Roadster that got launched is the one he paid for just like any other Tesla employee.

But I do wonder about Tesla as a company financially.

I know some manufacturers of EV cars 'lease' the batteries and replace when needed ( Nissan and Renault), I would personally go for hybrid.......
