I picked up an old North Face Roadrunner 2 tent for $3.00 had no poles and a bit on the extended use side.
I had some Aluminum poles laying around and had to cut them down and now I have a working tent after resealing the floor and weather coating the fly.
Now the topic,, Anyone that has an older well used tent with a vinyl window on the rain fly most likely it is hazy or fogged from long term UV ray exposure.
This will not fix windows that are cracking and falling out.
I used Novus buffing polish #2 on both sides of the window rubbed it in then buffed them out with a clean old T shirt and wiped it down with pledge. ::008::
mcguire's buffing compound may work. Damn near new looking, don't rub to hard as you may find a spot the threading is dried out and pull your window out of the rain fly. ::010::
I give my tent windows the pledge before I store it for the winter keeping it clean and put in a loose netted laundry bag when in storage extends their life span. Keep them dry and clean off mud and dirt after use. Moisture & Tent fabric = Kryptonite & Superman. If it smells like Horse Shit it can be salvaged, if it smells like Horse Shit and Vomit save the poles AND TOSS IT!!!!
