As you can see from my avatar I've had water just above the fender.

Be sure to watch your speed. I had a wake wash over the winglets and fortunately exit by the triple clamp before it reached the tank. All I could think was, "please keep running, please keep running..." I decided next time I would follow the route Spklbuk took and not blaze my own in hopes to find a smoother ride.
