Hi folks, I'm looking to buy a tank bag, and it seems there is two options from Yamaha, the city bag and the ST bag. I've just read through the topic just below on tankbags but it was all about the ST one.....I think.

So I'm wondering what type is best and other than the connection ring to the tank for the city bag, what's the difference ::008::

I'm unsure what "city bag" from Yamaha you're talking about. If Yamaha sells one that attaches by a "connection ring", I'm not aware of it. But I see you're overseas so perhaps Yamaha has a different set of accessories for your market.

The Yamaha tank bag designed specifically for the S10 (23P-F41E0-V0-00) is well-liked in these parts. It's a big/roomy one and fits the bike well. And it's a combo mag-mount/strap-on type which tends to stay put better than most. But its a touring-type bag and overkill for tootling around town with a bottle of water, cell phone, and face shield cleaner. I have this bag for longer trips and a Joe Rocket Manta mag-mount for times I don't need to carry much. But their are lots of choices....there are probably at least 25 tank bags available for the bike from various sources (including a couple which snap into a connection ring around the tank filler) and all have their pros/cons. There are a number of pretty good threads on this forum comparing them. If you want further information, it would be helpful defining what you want.

::026:: on the Super Tenere specific bag. I have found it invaluable on long trips.

I like the Yamaha specific bag, it does well. But, never perfectly secure, needs some sort of paint protection, top of my tank is pretty hazy, could use some sort of divider/pockets. It is now electrified. I will probably be doing it all over again with a Bags Connection City when I have some money to spend.

That bag is different than what we have here in the states Rand. It looks like a great bag though. I wish we did get it.

LOL, I was just going to say; that one is a rebadged Bags Connection Bag, mounting ring and all. I wonder what that translates to in dollars...

Wow, the dollar has slipped since last time I looked. 198.00 US, plus shipping and mount vs 312.00 thru Twisted.

Just saw it listed on ebay for 179.99 with free shipping. Seller appears to be a motorcycle dealer in Ohio. Makes me wonder if this item is available from our dealers here in the states.

Check out www.rkaluggage.com I have there Incharge bag with the power and dash and love it. Without the power and dash it's a great bag too. It is a three point harness is you like those. It is shaped to fit the Tenere tank.

Works great for me. Say Hibto Richard and Kathy aka RKA.
