Hi, new member. Have same issue as Smitty with a 2015ES purchased in the US. Suspension warning light came on after forgetting the ignition n for a while. Battery felt week. Could not start bike. Jump start it. Bike started after that. Put it on stand to try to get to reset the suspension with no success. Battery is at 11.67V. When pressing the TCS and RESEST button get a blank screen on dashboard right hand side with "DIAG" on top left corner but not able to make any adjustement to the Suspension. (see pictures)
Bike has only 5064km on it. Live in an Island. No tech. BIke is working fine, only driving it on the road. Suspension show the number 44..Not sure if that is the error or if it means something else.
How do I get to reset if I cannot access the code?
How do I get to the codes?
At a loss, any one can help?
Much love from the Islands!
Didier

What about disconnecting the battery? Maybe charge the battery while it's disconnected?

Well I have not tried that yet and surely can do that easily...Just did not wanted to create more issues if there was a way to fix it using the Codes and reset it but clearly I am not able to do that, so will try your idea and keep you posted if i got though!
Much appreciated!
Cheers from the Islands

Did I read correctly that battery voltage is 11.67 volts? I'd begin there and solve that issue first.

On suspension, I'll preface this with I'm looking at a FJR ES FSM. Fault code 44 is described as an error while reading from or writing on EEPROM. This is referring to the SCU memory and saved selected settings. There is also a fault code 46 referencing abnormal charging voltage. Do you have that fault as well?

G,
My problem is fixed using the tread from Toadady and help from Jeff. However, you are correct. The problem started after leaving the ignition on for over 1 hour and probably discharge the battery enough to create the error when I tried to start the bike. I did not see any fault code reference 46 or at least not yet.
Not sure why a discharge battery would create the 44 code error, but it did. Will check the battery for sure to make sure it is back up to its 12v+ normal charging level.
Thanks for the additional information. Good to know.
Cheer from the Islands!

When this bike has a weak/low battery, it likes to throw codes. Random codes, codes that make no sense and will drive you crazy. She hates weak batteries.

A lot of vehicles will do crazy stuff when the battery is acting up. I had a family minivan that would turn on all the wipers (front and rear) whenever I started it. Seemed like it was starting ok until a couple of days later when it didn't. Battery completely dead, essentially a brick. Installed a new one and the crazy wipers problem was also solved.

Thank you all for the help! I cannot thank you enough.
While we are the subject, any of you would have a idea what would be the best suspension setting for myself, only person riding the bike, always alone and without luggage 5'.8" 165 lbs.
Only drive to commute on fairly good rad with mostly bumps rather than pot hole...kind of island style pot hole fixed ,where you had a hole and once fixed you have a bump :p;)

Choices ...... that's the beauty of the ES/ZE.

Given the roads you describe, I would ride 1 helmet & soft damping, then experiment within the parameters of the soft setting. Each to there own though; some like harder damping, I suspect after coming at S10 ownership following a life on sports bikes.

Thanks! Will try that..Kept it on Standard since I got it..
Tell me, the + and - settings in each mode, is that + is softer and - less soft? I understand this correctly? or it is the reverse?

Glad you got the issue fixed Didier...now don't leave the key on again!

Regarding settings, the "+" increases dampening so each increment is slightly stiffer up to "+3". Experiment around and find the one that works best for you and your riding style. For example, starting with Soft if the ride is still too sloppy at +3, move to STD "0" and then run its full range. Good luck!

+1 on his advise. I've always equated one helmet per 200lbs; luggage = 50lbs.

And, +1 on his advise. But, you'll find that what works on one road surface is total crap on another. But, they're both right about the settings being up to you. The good news is you're going to have fun finding your favorite settings.

Reading this thread because I have the same issue. I pulled over today and started talking to some friends. I forgot to turn the key off and ended up draining the battery down. Had to jump it in order to start the bike. Now the suspension light is on. The OP of this thread says he solved the problem but doesn't say HOW he solved the problem. Does anyone know??? Thanks

If the light came on “after” a failed start attempt due to a dead battery…..you do not have a serious problem…you just have an error code stored in the ecu memory, which you have to erase…..
