For those who have the SUper Tenere already, are there any of you which load the scales a bit higher than normal? Ok, closer to 300 lbs without luggage?
I want to know how soft the suspension feels. I know after installing stiffer front springs in my forks on the VSTrom it really helped the front compression on gravel roads. Since the bike is rated at 440 pounds or so, will I suffer no major issues with the stock stuff?

Thanks

HoebSTer ................. I am pulling the scale on 125 kg, about 275 lbs. With panniers and luggage the total load will be more than 300 lbs. The setting on the rear shock is on the halfway mark, the front shocks are still on the setting as it came from the factory, and I do comfortably 120 to 130 km/h on gravel roads without any problems.
IMHO I do no think you will suffer any major issues with the stock stuff.

I'd have thought you'd be fine with the stock set up. I wouldn't know though I never really test the suspension as I'm ~ 75kg.

The suspension is perfect for someone at around 80kg (176lbs)

For off-road I tend to mess with the rebound settings.

Looks like I'll have to lose about 24 pounds.

Wonder if the brownies I just made will be OK if I freeze them. Wait, that means I'll have to buy a smaller riding jacket, pants, etc. Oh well, never mind.

Now, where did I leave that recipe for fudge frosting??

It's good to hear that the stock springs are useful. I hope that includes the front fork springs. It was really frustrating when I bought my DL1000 to have to spend another $100 on higher rate fork springs.

Rick, by the sounds of it, you will be alright with the Tenere. Hell, I wish all of the accessories were only $100 rather than 400 or $700 like WASP's Exhaust I am drooling over.

That's good!

I can live without an after market exhaust. I wear earplugs anyway, so any additional noise is canceled out. :) How much weight does it save anyway?

WhileI like the sound of the Leo Vince can on my FZ1, I do not intend to mess with the OEM muffler. I leave for work at 5:30 AM and I don't think the neighbors would appreciate an after market exhaust.
