Apologies if this has already been discussed on here, however I saw a trailer earlier this evening, for a motorcycle adventure, 4 part series called Himalaya Calling, with both bikes used being Super Tenere’s. It’s available on Amazon Prime.

Being a trailer promoting the series, obviously it looked good.

Anyone seen this? Is it worth a look.

Here’s a link to a you tube snippet of it, and although this is in German, the trailer I saw earlier was definitely in English.

I will make a trip like this someday. Has anyone done something like this? The logistics is where I seem to struggle.......

J/K. I’m sure you’re right. Riding (or driving) in Europe appears to be more varied as far as makes, models and styles. I was impressed at the variety of bikes and scooters I’d seen over there.

I’ve not watched it yet, but can imagine what it’s like. Stuff like this is very inspiring, often leading to ideas for epic trips. Sadly they rarely result in stuff like this, but it’s nice to see and appreciate nonetheless.

I’m at a point in life where I like my comforts, so stick to on road touring, which I thoroughly enjoy. I’ve done a month away on the Super Tenere, crossing 11 different countries in Europe, during one trip. Not everyones idea of an adventure, but it was to me. I have a four to six week trip planned for 2022, which will include the Artic Circle and the Nordkapp, as well as six new countries for me.

Whaaaat? Germans not riding Beemers?!?! What's next?! "Dogs and cats, sleeping together"? I'll have to check it out.
Yes indeed! Although I always liked the ST10, during a few of my touring trips in Northern Europe, I got to talking with quite a few German riders who rated the ST10 way above the GS for quality of finish and reliability. They certainly helped to make up my mind!

I'm covid bored so I'm searching for entertainment. I just watched this video on Amazon Prime:

Highlands & Islands - Where Scotland's heart beats loudest / Scotland by motorcycle

This is a ride on my bucket list and the rider is on a Tenere.:) I want to explore my Scottish roots.

Ta for the advice, I’m going to have a look for that.

Scotland really is worth a week or two visit, a truly spectacular place!

Both should be part of every riders' bucket list!!! Just be ready for days of rain.

Scotland and Ireland were supposed to be part of this summer's post-retirement European ride. Having been all over the EU many times for work, my basic post-retirement idea was to go till I got bored or ran out of money. COVID hit, the baby was born and needs day-care, so maybe maybe next summer.

The cinematography looks amazing from the trailer. I'm definitely going to check it out. With respect to being surprised at Germans riding Yamahas, isn't that like expecting that all Australians drink Fosters? My experience visiting down under last year was that Foster's actually wasn't very prevalent.

If this trip happens, you could include the IOM en route to Ireland, assuming you’d get the ferry from Scotland to Ireland. Might not be your thing, or you may of already been, but if not, it’d give you an opportunity to see where the TT is run and ride the course. Added bonus, no speed limit on the mountain section.
