My dad and I have been riding together for years, but my fz-6 I no longer have and he has a decked out 2014 Yamaha ST. He is barely able to get on/off it and really only rides city or tour and his bike is more of a problem now. I fit perfectly on his bike (6'4", 200lb) and can ride the shit out of his bike, it's perfect. But he's wanting a new bike and wants one for me also so we can ride together, but he's very attached to the ST and wanted to be able to pass it down to me. I've been worried about my mom getting upset about him buying another bike especially after the about he spent on his current ride. I've asked him about selling the Yamaha even though it would be awesome to hold onto. Anyone have experience with the tenere or trade theirs in? And if so what kind of bike replaced hit?

maybe something like a tracer would be good for him.

i've seen nice used ones in the 8-9 grand region pretty regularly. you should buy his tenere... in my opinion. he'll likely take a bath on a trade in.

Welcome to the group. It's a courtesy here and elsewhere to show where you are and as a noob your post has been moved to Member Intros.

The search function works well for both questions and to see what bikes have sold for.

Hello and welcome.

Buy the ST from your father. I would not trade one in. They don't bring much at a dealer unless that dealer is connected with ST enthusiasts. They are hard to sell to the general motorcycle public, at least that is my opinion.
