Should the Rally be canceled, kept in April or moved to later, such as September?

Has Arkansas or Utah been done before?
Here is the history

2012 - Whitehorse, YK
2013- Ouray, CO
2014 - Arkansas
2015 - Arkansas
2016 - Southern Utah (Zion Ponderosa ) it was a WET one!

2018 - Tellico Plains, TN
2019 - Ouray, CO

The Romney WV Camp n Ride in the Spring used to get pretty good participation but that ended in 2018.

A few years ago, a bunch of us had a FJ1100/FJ1200 Rally in the Black Hills.
We used Hill-City as our Base, and stayed at Rafter-J Bar Ranch.
https://www.rafterj.com/

The facilities are super-nice, and from what I remember the price was very reasonable? (although most of us shared Cabins)
They were very accommodating to our entire group.

Depending when this Super Tenere Rally took place, I may or may-not be able to attend, as my Summer is already filling up for next year.
Just thought I'd throw this idea out there.

I am very interested and being retired open to locations. Long distance location it would be nice to ride out with someone from the midwest.

This sounds like fun. Hopefully it can be a West Coast Rally. I did a Mojave Preserve one a few years back and it was a blast. Another option in the summer months would be Kennedy Meadows in the South Sierra's. Tons of riding as mild or wild as you want to get!!

You're absolutely right, there is a lot of good riding in the Black Hills. Usually a week before and a week after the Sturgis rally is pretty busy. Outside of that window, lots of open space.
I think you hit a home run with this one! This got my vote.
The South Dakota Black Hills would be most excellent. I would suggest going before the Sturgis Rally, late June when it's not too hot and the countryside is still green. I would also set up a base in Hulett WY near Devil's Tower. "Wyoming is big and wonderful" and it's only 60 miles and one stop sign away from South Dakota and the Black Hills

For me Black Hills was a bummer. I went in the off season June to early July and there is nowhere to pull over. It is not motorcycle friendly at all. Steel poles every 3-4 feet at the edge of the roads in Black Hills and all roads leading to Mt Rushmore. Signs everywhere no stopping at any time. I had a hell of a time finding a place to take pictures. Badlands was just basic desert landscape. It is a novelty for someone who does not ride in the desert. I rode from Yellowstone Park to Wall SD and stayed the night. Spent the whole next day riding every back road possible. By the time I rode through Needles Highway I was done. Very disappointed.

Now if there is good off highway fire roads I would be interested......

There are lots of fire roads in the Black Hills area. Not like being in Colorado or something, but at least some places to get some dirt under the tires. I took one a few miles out and then took a two-track trail about a mile in and camped with nobody else around with less than a week to the big rally. I bet it would be open to camp during the rally as well.

Sturgis would most likely work very well for me, it’s only a 800 mile ride to get there and I would love to attend a Tenere Rally . But I’m not the one doing the big work to set it up, so whatever area gets chosen i hope it all works out great for everyone !

Looks like there are plenty of dirt roads to ride on the West side of the Blackhills NF. Newcastle is just across the state line.

The ST-Owners.com group will be in Spearfish June 24-16 for their annual NatSTOC gathering.

I'm a fan of the Black Hills area, but I'll throw out one additional region where the Tenere event has never been held. The northeast USA.

Two of my favorites are around Lake Placid in NY, and Mt Washington in NH. Both offer phenomenal scenery and great pavement rides. I've only done limited off pavement at each, but suspect there is more.

Full disclosure, it's a selfish suggestion. I probably only have time for two big rides next year. One will be in this region (Dirt_Mom missed riding there this year), and Europe in August. Doubt I'll be able to make anything else.

New job, limited vacation time - also selfishly hope for a NE location.

NH and VT both have user-made dirt routes spanning the state. ADV Cromag rally is in VT. MABDR crosses all of PA.

NY has Catskills AND Adirondacks. VT has Green Mts, NH and ME has White Mts. PA has Appalachians. Camping, dirt roads, scenery and twisties galore in any of these States.

New job, limited vacation time -
My last paid vacation day was Christmas, 1997. Guess that counts as limited vacation time. :)

I'd like to think of my selfish suggestion as more of an opportunity to share an area DM and I love to ride. The Adorondaks hold some kind of near magnetic attraction to us that is impossible to put into words. The road up Mt Washington remains in my top 5 favorite roads of all time.

It's a great area that is worthy of long distance travel.
