Super Tenere Rally Arkansas, 2020

Should the Rally be canceled, kept in April or moved to later, such as September?

lake wister state park borders Ouachita (p 5 on a Oklahoma map ) has 20 tent sites ,cabins ,and pull throughs with full hookups . and there are others scattered around , and probably have some private campsites around also.

Identify who would be willing to organize and let them decide.

This is the best comment so far. Not to say that there has not been any intelligent posts......

I have hosted many rallies in my day, IMO it is NOT that hard. No matter where it is or when it is there will always be people that cant make it and/or want it to be somewhere else. If anyone wants to step up I will help them out. I dont see me being able to host one this year. And it the past I host them at places that i know, makes it easier for me......

Having 2 locations 2 weekends in a row sounds like a good idea to me.

I like the sound of 2 consecutive weekends and doable for me (date dependent). South Dakota and Adirondacks areas are places of interest but any location that is agreed upon I'll be in.

I really liked the one in Ouray this past year. Everyone just came together. Easy with no one person obligated for anyone else. I don’t want to put a bunch of work on anybody, just a nice get together.

I like the idea of it being in a central location, as it might be easier to get more attendees.

I have never been out of the “west”. Would love to see something new.

If riding the Ouachita's check the area around Mena, AR which is about 60 miles southeast of Wister, OK. It holds the Christian Bike Rally (CMA) every year and is some of the best ATV riding in the state. There are several campgrounds, IMO, that are better locations than Lake Wister.

Here is a place near Sturgis, and seems to have reasonable rates. $20 per night per person for tent, or dry RV.

Thoughts?
I have attended the Sturgis rally 8 different years and one thing for sure is there are plenty of reasonably priced campgrounds in the area, I believe that’s just one of the things that helps make the Sturgis rally so popular.
i am kind of hoping a Tenere rally happens somewhere near Sturgis in 2020 but my plan is to make an effort to attend where ever it might be.

This is how our WeSTOC rally’s work. WeSTOC was originally set up for Honda ST owners, but as those bikes are now discontinued , we’ve carried on with many different brands and models just the same. Next year will be our 25th anniversary rally.

I am willing to host a west gathering. Denver people like the Black Hills in June waiting for the Rocky Mtns. To open up. Another less discovered place is Bonner’s Ferry, ID. I have done street routes out of there. Tons of Texans maybe an earlier gathering more convenient for that region.

I bet we can find a great little hole in the wall, mom & pop place that would love to have the group.

The people, roads, “back roads”, and scenery, up in AR are top-notch! I’ve ridden all over the country, on highways, back roads and tons of off-road, North & North west AR are on my top five list.

Very good all around place to ride.
Also eastern Oklahoma near the National forest.

For anyone out on the East coast, or West coast, if your ever around this area, I recommend plotting some epic back road riding in AR. “Worth it” !

It always reminds the most of East Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia areas. For ‘loose’ reference.

I have found a JEEP you-tube channel that has posted a video, up and around the National forest in AR. In one video they travel around ‘car wash falls’. When I google mapped the area, people have dropped red pins in the area with VERY cool things to go look at out in the national forest along the way, off the dirt roads. If anyone is interested, it’s really easy to see all this info on google or you-tube. Here are a few photos of Ozark National Forest.

Hope to go blast many of these dirt roads in 2020 !!Screen Shot 2019-11-01 at 11.46.29 AM.pngScreen Shot 2019-11-01 at 11.46.47 AM.pngScreen Shot 2019-11-01 at 11.46.59 AM.png

Arkansas really is a undiscovered gem!
I was down there a couple months back and I think the cat is coming out of the bag.
Rich people are discovering it.
These sports car guys have found out how good it is.

They don't go to the same places that I go though.
