Due to the overwhelming number of requests we've received for the ST passenger backrest we have added this item back into our line of accessories as of May 2015. Current price is $135 plus shipping depending on your location - $22 US, $47 Canada, $53-$57 Overseas, also depending on location - all via USPS Priority mail.

Hi. My name is Dan Vesel and we have been producing a passenger backrest for the popular Suzuki V-Strom DL650/1000's for almost 7 years now. I heard a rumor that some Super Tenere owners would like to mount a passenger backrest to their bike. With only a slight change to our V-Strom backrests and the addition of a special offset spacer, we can now provide Super Tenere owners with a passenger backrest that they can either mount to their OEM rack or, minus the spacers, to a bridged top plate. The price will be set at $125 plus shipping, the same as for the V-Strom model.

I had my first look at one of these Super Tenere's at a local dealer a couple of days ago and really liked it, especially the shaft drive. If I am able to add one of the Tenere's to my stable, I may be offering other accessories for it down the road. Right now we are trying to perform the necessary changes to our existing products to fit the new 2012 DL650 (I'm probably the only person that wished it would have stayed the same - lol).

I don't get to the forums very often so it's definitely best to contact me directly if anyone has any questions regarding the backrest. You can see the backrest at my homepage I've included here, at the bottom of the first page. As I mentioned above, it is the same backrest pictured for the V-Strom, as I have only needed to move the two support brackets closer together to line up over the Super Tenere's rack mounting bolts. We will also be lining the underside of the brackets with adhesive backed felt to protect the OEM rack's painted surface.

You can email us at CHERDAN@webtv.net. Take care, ride safe.

I got a LOT better than an e-mail from Dan today..... ::024::

Two bolts, adjustable and nice quality!!!! ::012::

This is obviously the back rest for the AltRider rack. He's currently working on the standard Tenere rack.

I can vouch for Dan he treated me very well in the order process and I am very happy with the pax back rest. Here it is mounted on the stock OEM rack.

Late response for pax feedback but my wife loves this backrest. Between the BMS seats and this backrest we are happy campers and I took her out for a day long ride a few Saturdays ago and she was very comfy. You can't go wrong with this set up for a pax backrest.
