I'm still pretty new to riding (43 yrs old with 10K miles in 2.25yrs), but that's one thing I appreciate about riding a motorcycle. The respect you must give, otherwise the consequences can be dire. Keeps everything honest.

I watch these crash videos on YouTube a lot. Great material on what not to do. I don't get any enjoyment watching people get hurt on bikes, but I have no real sympathy for people who biff it while doing wheelies.

You are in control of your own outcome most of the time.
You have to ride a motorcycle like flying a plane, "Everything is critical"....
I learned that the hard way. :
