I am finally pulling the trigger on a Super Tenere and it currently has a two brothers exhaust on it and I cannot decide wether to leave it on or have them put the stock exhaust back on as it may be a little a little loud. I've never heard the stock exhaust before and will be able to keep both. Any opinions or experiences would be appreciated especially from those that travel. Thank you

how loud is it , and does it have the Db killer installed.... I have thought about a 2 brothers but have been concerned it might be overwhelming ...stock is muted and a non issue riding done the street....

The Two Brothers "M2" Exhaust is definitely on the loud, rumbley side.
Try Googling "Two Brothers Yamaha Super Tenere exhaust" and you probably will find a vid that demonstrates the actual sound.

They are not overly loud, but I'm sure more than stock. Definitely not as loud as some of my past Harley's, :)
I'm just curious what everyone's thoughts were as they, travel, camp, motel, etc... Also, I had heard that the stock sound wasn't bad with a decent note in which I am sure would disapear when you get going. The owner of the dealership put 13000 on the bike and he just likes noise he said and offered to reinstall stock if I want.

stock has a rumble if your standing close to bike …. I have checked youtube and listened ,hard to really 'hear' how really loud they are.... on a long highway trip is it so loud as to wear you out with the sound? or is the sound such that it adds to the ride with the rumble.

Personally since you have the option I would definitely choose to have the stock pipe reinstalled and put the aftermarket pipe up for sale here on this board.
In my younger days I wasted plenty of money on aftermarket exhaust but I eventually outgrew that phase thankfully.

I am amazed at all the illegal exhaust on motorcycles around here and the cops seem to mostly ignore it because they don’t have decibel meters. But if you go off road riding with illegal pipes the DNR officers will be very anxious to pull you over and demonstrate how their decibel meters work so they can write you a ticket with a pretty hefty fine.

Spot on cycledude, I think I'm past the noise / ripping around town stage at my age. Also, as mentioned there are areas that may challenge the exhaust note.

Sierra1, this one is not that loud, but will bark if you ask it to, but still not real bad. I am going to use this bike for touring mostly, so I think quieter is better and will draw less attention where not wanted.

That is true, I'm sure I'll be playing at times. I'll be calling in the AM to have them switch to stock to give them plenty of time to have it ready for Friday when I arrive.

I appreciate everyone's input and look forward to being a new Tenere owner!

I had my two brothers exhaust on for a little over one year and I must say I liked it. The exhaust is not very loud not even close to a harley and I have been pulled over in Vt and they tested all the harleys in our group and when it was my turn they just waved me on. I have sold my S10 but have a few items including the two brothers exhaust that I will be selling soon. I would at least give it a try to see if you like it. Don't forget the crush gasket can't be used when installing the two brothers exhaust. On the highway it was a nice low hum not that loud.

Thanls again, im having the dealer put the stock exhaust back on the bike before delivery. I'll have the two brothers if I choose to go back to it, but I think I'll like it stock.

Picked up my bike today with the stock exhaust reinstalled. I've got to say, I like it and will stick with it. I appreciate everyone's input and now I'll try to sell the two brothers exhaust locally.

The Arrow header with the stock exhaust is a great combo. Getting rid of the cat adds power and a little rumble, but still very civil.

When I bought by 2014 ES, it came with a Two Brothers Black Series exhaust. I finally put it on today and did a short ride: not as loud as I feared, nice steady sound under 3k rpm, but really opens up when you crack it! Some popping on decel, but not too bad. Pleased, we'll see how it wears long term.

I had a 2B on my first ST. Loved the beat it produced especially the popping when decelerating. I also do a lot of off-road riding, the weight saving was quite noticeable. I have a Yoshi RS4 on my current ST, love it. With regards to loudness, any trip longer than 30min I wear plugs so it does not matter.
