I'm in! I'll be coming with SwampyVT and another buddy on a VFR. I'm stoked to get back down there after missing a few years!

Welcome back! Good to see that the wife and kids are going to let you out of the house.

One thing we do need to respect is that we can't "compete" with our hosts having a maintenance department. It's the reason we've not held tech days and such during the Camp-N-Ride.

That said:

1. Romney Cycle does have a good shop and if you call ahead can take care of work you might want done. This is a dealer that is no stranger to the Tenere.

2. AVC8130/Tony usually gets your ECU back to you in just a couple of days when you send it to him. He's done a lot of them for a lot of us, and always starts with questions about how you want the bike to perform after. I had his personal custom Sport mode and Tour mode was almost stock, with slightly less engine braking. Send him a pm for details and you can have it done before the event.

I totally respect that, but it's a major bummer.

Romney doesn't do re-flashes, do they?

Being able to pull the ECU and get it flashed and back in the bike while I wait is the one thing that would put me over the top. I can't be without the bike for several days - it's how I get to work.

That said, Romney is first-class all the way and does a fantastic job taking care of all the rowdies who show up. I wouldn't do anything to harm their business or take advantage of their hospitality.

I'd like to try to make this weekend, but I can't commit. I'm going to the Stolen Pig Rally the weekend before, and this one will be dependent on bike and wife conditions thereafter.
I'll arrive Saturday around noon, and roll out Sunday around noon. I'd love to meet up with some locals and ride some dirt or gravel Saturday afternoon. Then enjoy a good campfire.

Is there an official registration somewhere? Or do I just show up?

Basically just show up. Your name will be added to the first post of this thread as a potential attendee. That allows our food vendor to have an idea of what to expect. Glad you're joining us.

There is no cost for the event, but we do encourage you to consider making a donation to the Potomac Center, the local charity selected by Romney Cycles.

Sure, but not at the event.

We can really get the turnaround down to a very short time period. If you want to use 1 day shipping you could ship on day 1. I get it day 2 and flash it. Then it's on its way back to you day 3. You receive it day 4.

Thanks!

The problem really hasn't been the wife, she lets me get away with murder. The problem has been the particular weekend. My boy's birthday is 4/26. So 2 years ago he was being born and last year the weekend was his birthday party. This year I planned his party around Romney!

Tony, don't take this wrong but a 2 year old? I always thought you were older. :)

Please take it as a compliment to your maturity!

Paul my friend (still my friend even without sharing the good scotch in Romney) the request is getting there! Steve Reno showed me how to get home 2 years ago. 988 miles Koolwink to my garage.

I blame your confusion on your unfortunate life. Born a Limey and then growing up in the real Northern US provinces.

Snake if he want to ride here, I would feed him and provide scotch and gladly follow him there. After all he is old and retired with nothing else to do.
