Has anyone tried the South Dakota Adventure Loop on a Tenere yet? It sounds like a heck of a good idea for a regional group ride. I have no past off road experience so I have been taking it slow with the Tenere. I will be picking up a XR650L tomorrow and hope to quickly expand my off road skills with a bike that weighs a couple hundred pounds less.

That looks great. We're blessed to have such a large and diverse country to explore ::008:: Hope you enjoy it and take some pictures I love some wide open spaces.

Hey Abercrombie,

I did a ride report over on ADV rider on the Slim Buttes area, which is about 10 miles south of Reva, S. Dakota, if you are familiar with that little gas stop. I believe Slim Buttes is part of the Dakota Adventure Loop, but am not positive. Most of it isn't too gnarly, but there are parts of it you definitely wouldn't want to ride on a Tenere unless you have some mad skills (which I don't ).
