And don't forget, once you find a good rotor metal, you are going to have to locate a pad material that will be compatible. I'm all for a "do-it-yourself" mindset, but not with something this important.
It will be cut of the same metal compound (SS 3CR12) as the OEM rotors.

So, I hope to use the OEM or the like pads.

Sierra 1, I'm not convinced that even companies that are in the pad making business have found a pad material that's compatible with all discs. I used EBC pads briefly on the S10 OEM rotor, and they ground a lip into the rear rotor after about 8000 miles. I know not everyone has that experience, but I've certainly read a lot of on line accounts from guys who've said the same thing about EBC pads.

Finally!! Somebody that agrees with me. I learned the hard (expensive) way on my truck. I'm not knocking EBC. But their pads are not compatible with all rotor materials. The pads will work, but at the cost of your rotor(s). BUT, when EBC pads were put on my ST1300, and they got hot....they did NOT stop. Whatever Honda used for their rotors was not compatible with EBC. That is why I ONLY use OE pads on my two and four wheel vehicles.
