The time has come to sell my dream bike. I wanted a Super Tenere since before the first batch made it to the USA. I finally bought this 2018 ES in Spring of 2019. I set it up for Touring and was able to take a couple of long trips and a few weekend trips. Love the bike and it is the best all around touring motorcycle I have owned or ridden. The electronic adjustable suspension is great. So easy to load up the luggage and adjust the suspension with the menu. The default settings worked great for me an my weight (~185). One helmet no luggage for local rides. One helmet with luggage when loaded up. I was always impressed with how well it worked. First bike I owned with heated grips, and the integration with the instrument panel works great too. I expected to own this bike for many years and purchased the YES extended warranty.

I have been a teleworker for a few years now and ever since I stopped commuting to work my riding has just become less and less. Covid hit, and then my left knee started giving me problems. Now I ride very little these days and have no plans for any long motorcycle trips. I have decided I don't want to see such a great bike just sitting in my garage. I don't really want to sell it, but I don't ride it enough to warrant keeping it.

The bike is in excellent condition and has been maintained better than Manual directs. I have been trying to ride it locally about once every week or two to keep fluids moving and the battery charged. In the winter I put it on a battery tender periodically. Battery has never been drained or given me any issues. I have changed the oil and filter at recommended intervals or sooner. I use 91 octane ethanol free gas locally and whenever it was available on road trips, so it has had only a couple tanks of e10 91 and only when on long trips so it wasn't in the tank long at all. The only place the bike is not "like new" is the Givi Top box. It is raw aluminum and shows the rubbing from having the dry bag strapped to the pillion seat on trips. The Give top box is perfectly usable, just doesn't look pristine. The Bumot panniers are painted aluminum and look like new with a just one little scuff that is very hard to spot. My local Dealer did the Brake switch recall Feb. 2021.

The front rim is brand new. I dented the original front rim in Utah on the last big trip. I was able to ride the bike home and didn't have any issues except for a very very slow leak. I also rode around on that rim for over a year without any problems other than having to be vigilant about checking the air pressure. In march of 2021 I sent the front wheel to Woody's Wheelworks in Denver to have them fix the dent. Ended up re-lacing a brand new OEM Rim. They did a great job and I am glad I trusted them to do the work. New rim has been on bike long enough that I can attest the slow leak issue has been resolved. The TPMS system allows you to keep an eye on tire pressure while riding. The Utah trip was the only time the bike was ridden on any thing other than pavement and a few miles of KS gravel roads. Even though the front rim was dented, the bike has never been "laid down" or taken a nap. So the Givi crash bars are like new.

Farkle List:
Bumot Defender Pannier system with tool box 36L/40L - slightly narrower than handlebars

Thanks Mark.

With everything going on in the world I can't complain. I am just not riding the bike enough and am going to take a break from motorcycling for a awhile.

If anyone is in the market for a nicely set up Super Tenere, this is it. I’ve seen and ridden with this bike and know it has been meticulously cared for. GLWS

I thought I put everything in the original post, but just remembered that I also put O-rings around the base of the head to help prevent water from getting down into the spark plug holes. I read on here about the corrosion on the ignition coils and tried to make it harder for water to get in there. I haven't had a need to pull the ignition coils to check, but wanted to mention that I did that as a preventive maintenance prior to the bike ever being ridden in any kind of rain.

The Givi raw aluminum top case where the drybag rubbed against it: (The Raw aluminum is simply not as nice as the painted Bumot panniers, although it has a full size key)

This spot on the left pannier is only visible from certain angles and again was from the drybag strapped to the pillion:
first shot is what it looks like from most angles, second was the angle that it is most visible (I had to roll the bike into the sun just to get it to show up on camera)
