Greetings-
I've been meaning to post this for a while (a year and a half!).

Its a riders only - no passenger seat. I purchased the seat in September 2018. I might have put 600 miles on the seat (its probably not even broken in). I traded my 2012 Super Tenere in for a different bike in November 2018. I barely got what I wanted for the bike and I knew the dealer wouldn't care about a custom seat.

So I put it in the original packaging in my garage and planned to sell it...and I finally am.

$150 - which includes shipping to the lower 48. Elsewhere, we can exchange messages and figure out a reasonable adder to cover extra shipping cost. Paypal for payment. I'll ship it when the funds get in my account.

I really would just like to see the seat get out of the garage. Heck if you are within a couple of hours of southwestern VA I might even deliver it myself (any excuse to go ride...)

It is in good shape (sorry i didn't do a great job getting the specks of mud off in the photos - but its just dirt.) I am throwing in the hat that Sargent sent with the seat too (hardly worn it - its been packed with the seat.)

Cheers,
Dave

HI-sorry for the delay in replying. I don't know what model year is considered second gen.

However, according to the Sargent website, they only have one option for the Super Tenere and it indicates 2010+ for compatible years.
So my take would be that the seat is compatible with all model years.

Perhaps someone else can comment? And I would encourage you to check out the Sargent site and see if my interpretation matches what you see.

Cheers,
Dave

Did you find this to be an improvement over the stocker?

Yes I think it was more comfortable in the long haul. Multi-day rides of several hundred miles each, or a long weekend traveling say 10 hours up and then 10 hours back - The second 10 hours would really get challenging for my butt.

I think the stock seat felt more flat to convex and seemed to keep the weight more distributed in a narrow center on the seat. So after the above types of rides my butt would really get sore. The Sargent is definitely more concave and seemed to distribute the weight better. Like I said I didn't get alot of chance to really figure it out- I was at the 2018 Tenere gathering down in near Tellico Plains. So in addition to the 6 hours travel there, I spent the weekend logging a few hundred more miles. Overall after that weekend I decided the Sargent was a definite improvement. In fact the specs of mud on the seat that I didn't do such a good job cleaning off were from a fun little mud hole I found up near Indian Boundary Lake.

My buddy has a Sargent on his GSA that he likes and I am probably getting one for my current bike as the last few 300-600 mile rides I did on the stock lowered seat left my buns burning.
