Hi All! I’m looking into compact solar panel charger that will pack in the pannier and take the abuse of ADV life, any real life tested product suggestions? Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you are asking about but i have this solar charger i carry tied on my tail bag or top box when i use it. It charges during the day and is a LED light at night that will charge your phone. It is pretty good but you have to make sure the solar cells are up while you are riding during the day! I think someone was messing with me and kept flipping it over during the ride! Haha

I wonder if it would be easier/cheaper/better to just buy a couple of the lithium jump boxes. Depending on what you're going to need them for, they last quite a while.

I agree with Seirra, these are easily recharged while on the bike.
Unless you're going back country camping and need to rely on solar, I would steer clear from the solar versions. It's a value proposition for me. Two fully charged Lion battery packs will last a long time and two pack at Costco or Amazon are reasonably priced. Just my 2 cents.

It’s more/less for camping in the mountains/desert & keeping my gadgets going while off the bike, Got a jumper power pack, Nice piece of mind but after few charges I fee I’m taking charge from something I might want to count on for a jump:)…. Found foldable Big Blue that looks interesting….

The one I have, Tacklife, after about a dozen jump starts, and several years on the initial charge, still showed 50% capacity left. And if you had two, or three, of them you wouldn't have to worry about a dead one. Then, when you're not camping, you could put them in your cars for "just in case".

Remember that summer heat in the south shortens the life of Li-Ion cells.

There are all sorts of camping solar cells which should work for the OP, I just have no experience with them to recommend one.

I tried to use a pair of small panels from Goal Zero. They didn't charge my jump box enough during the day to charge my phone at night, even after sitting all day at camp. I'm going to stick with bike-charged options from now on.
