I'm up in Apple Valley. I've only had my Super Tenere a couple of weeks. My first bike in 20 years. But I rode for 30 years before giving it up in 1994. This bike just feels right.

I bought my S10 from Yamaha of Cucamonga in Rancho Cucamonga. I stopped at that dealership almost as an afterthought on the way to somewhere else to look at an S10. I found them to be honest and customer oriented. I couldn't pass up the deal they made me and rode off with a new S10 a couple of hours later. It took that long for them to assemble the bike out of the crate. I haven't riden a bike in about 19 years, but couldn't resist getting this one.

If you are looking for an honest dealer in Southern California I don't think you need to look any further than Yamaha of Cucamonga.

Congratulations. How do you like it so far? Do any off road riding especially saying that it's in your own backyard?

Newbie here. I'm in Hancock Park/Hollywood area. Bought a black S10 in November and just installed an Altrider Skid plate and crash bars. NOTE: can someone recommend a reliable Yamaha mechanic in the Central/West L.A. area? I bought mine at Del Amo South of LAX; thats a bit of a haul for a simple service.

I'm available every other weekend now, could do the weekend of the 29th I think.

If you're near ACH, so is my brother. He lives behind Vons in La Canada. Also try riding up Azusa to the top. Good ride, just a little east of you on the 210. I did that last Wednesday before the storms hit.

Ok, all you SoCal moto junkies...who's up for a street/dirt ride?

Maybe up through Big Bear and down the back side to Cactus Flats. That'll take you and dump you out in Yucca Valley on highway 62. Nice and scenic...easy off-road. https://www.google.com/maps/@34.1791807,-116.4993105,48847m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!6m1!1sz-xSUg_E-sNI.kTczkIRtYZG0?hl=en

Not sure what the conditions are in the dirt out there right now, but it might be a little muddy from snow-melt. Let's get some dirt on these pigs!

If not there...any other suggestions? Idyllwild? An open dirt lot next to the supermarket? :)

I'd love to do Big Bear route. Is that the same as the ride report you did before?

I wanted to post a RTE to Idyllwild but my all my riding days have been about taking my youngest son out on his little Yamaha XT225 (and me on my KLR!).
We're headed to Death Valley in a couple of weekends so this month is shot.
If you plan it in Feb. that would be do-able.

Hey Carl...yep that was the same route I reported on in another thread. It's a fun ride. Not too technical and just a few rocky places to pick through. I did hammer my skid plate in a few spots, but that was due to carrying a bit too much speed. Otherwise pretty easy. Some spots get pretty sloppy with mud and ruts when it rains or snows, but it isn't deep at all.

Idyllwild sounds fun, too. Let's consider a February ride. I'm in.
