Thanks! Sounds like fun but we will see, I'm booked pretty tightly as far as rides the next few months.

On another note, spotted another blue S10 headed westbound on the 210 freeway just past the 605 interchange at about 4:50 pm. Was it anyone on here perhaps?

Hi fellow So. Cal riders. I am looking for a little help here. I was about 1 week away from buying a Tiger 800 xc 3 months ago but I tore my achilles playing basketball before the purchase took place. I am now recovering from the surgery and if all goes well i will be in shape to ride again in March or April.

I have done alot of research and am now strongly considering the ST. I will ride mostly day trips to the various mountains (fire trails) all over so. cal. I thought the XC would be the perfect bike for this but I like to upside of the ST on longer distant rides/touring. I guess my question is ...is the ST fun on the fire trails? I know it will depend on experience ( i am coming from a KLR/DR background as well as CBR and Ninja in my younger days). I am not a newbie in the dirt but am somewhat itimidated by the size of the ST.

I put this in the So Cal thread because you guys would be familiar with the terrain i am talking about. Thanks in advance for any insight. By the way, I noticed a few guys in the south bay. I am up in PV myself.

Thanks!
I can be delighted in letting you know that the ST can run with the best of them depending on how you ride. The XC can be ridden more aggressively off road but the trade off is when you get back on the road. If you are just riding fire trails you'll have no issues whatsoever. Here's a ride that we just did in the desert a few weeks back. Come join us at Beyond Starbucks on Meetup.com and name drop me. I am in the Torrance/PV area so if you want to come take a look let me know. I also know the owner at Del Amo Motorsport if you haven't purchased just yet. Japanese by the way?

Hi everyone. Havok and I will be going on a ride tomorrow into the Cleveland National Forest and you guys are welcome to come with if you'd like. Let me know if anyone is interested. We will be meeting in the Walmart parking lot in Torrance at 9:15. You guys can meet us anywhere along the way but let me know if you want to come. PM me for questions. I think it's about time we get together!

I'll be in california the first week of april ::014::. pretty much allover the place. We have 3000km planned in about 6 days of riding, will be coming up the west coast.
most likely starting point is Brooking Oregon, then where ever the sun is shining.
Maybe i'll run into some of you
Ikuzo, the triumph is not that much lighter. Go for the ST, it's a blast off road.

Feel free to look up Beyond Starbucks on meet up. We do off road adventure type rides for beginners and for the experienced. I'd love to have more S10s in the group if possible.
Thanks for the info. All signed up on Meetup and looking forward to trying some easy dirt riding.

:) Well today was a blast, finally got to have some serious fun with the ST with some nice trails. Thanks to Solarinsocal and his friends for a great day. Wish I could have spend the last hours riding the trail in reverse, but I needed to get back to the 1 year old princess.

Never made it as far as LA. Went as far south as Hollister and headed back.
I'm flying to LA on monday for work related matters, flying back tuesday.

What good bike shops are there near LAX?

Not sure what you are looking for but Del Amo Motorsports in Redondo Beach is real close. I hear it's a good place and just off the 405 freeway close to the airport.

Spotted a pretty well customized black S10 leaving Lake Arrowhead near around 4 pm earlier today. Gave you a nod as you left the lot!
