I haven't heard from anyone else, but I am still planning on going! I have been terribly sick with a cold over the last week and a half so I have not been on the forum much.

Still planning on Feb. 21. We can meet at the trailhead so I will get specific coordinates unless you saw my Google map which has the starting point. I'm trying to get conditions of the trail, too, but those are hard to come by. Is 9am an ok meetup time?

I'll start another thread in the Western Region forum advertising the trip.

Thinking about a Death Valley run for March 27th-29th. If anybody is interested. I will probably stay in cheap rooms at Beatty Nv. and or Panamint springs. Lone Pine is not out of the question either.

Lots of great asphalt there as well as many great dirt roads......Titus Canyon is amazing!

Welcome Ostion! I'm in Encino. Just took my S10 up to Angeles Crest for the first time today, absolutely amazing. We should go for a ride some time.

So how are you SoCal riders finding dirt roads to ride on? I'm aware of the OHV areas, but all the other dirt and fire roads I see on google maps end up blocked off or closed to the public when I actually get there.

Other than occasionally getting lucky and finding an open gate, you have to get out of SoCal a ways. Trails available by Big Bear, Palomar, Hesperia etc but not much along the populated areas of socal. Too many people that abuse them resulted in closures over the decades. ::010::

Thanks navynuke. I agree with the sentiment... ::010:: and while I am a big supporter of ::021:: I actually need something to ride on!!

This was a fun trail, not super difficult but could be made more so if you chose harder lines etc.

Bottom is on 330. Google maps lists it as old city creek road. I'm game to try it again when I get my tenere back from a custom rear rack mount.

Also this trail is short but sweet off south main divide/ortega

I thing I saw you, I was coming down ACH getting on the 210 and you were riding up, I hit my helmet to signal cops ahead. Was that you?

absolutely.

Just need to get the bike back, hopefully next week.

If you're just getting started I promise not to take you down anything horrible.

These are a bit farther from SoCal

No shot of me on it, but the tenere did fine, with traction control on too!

Awesome, thanks in advance. I should be getting my Rumbux crash protection in the next two weeks based on Eric's emails. Was planning on sticking with the stock Battlewings until I wear them out, but do you think I should swap them out for something else for the dirt? I'm fine with going a bit further outside of LA as long as it is just the weekend. Can't really get time off work at the moment.

Stock battle wings would be ok on either trail I posted pics of. I wore my stock tires out too before I went all dual personality and started switching tires as needed for the next big ride.

Went to the kart track at Grange yesterday, graded dirt road on Continental Road Attacks, and a lot of dirt up central California last weekend on them, all did very well.
