In these current and difficult times we are experiencing, whatchagonna do when nature calls you??
I'll lead with a few of my solutions.
Fortunately, I live and ride in a relatively sparsely populated area, so a bathroom break is rarely a problem.
I have a few female rider friends and they fully understand.
Most restaurants are either closed, or if they are take out only, the loos are unavailable.
I pack a little kit of hans sanitizer and some toilet paper, for those just case events. Well, that's my solution what's yours??

What time of day? Day time. . . . one of the gazillion gas well sites, and far side of bike/car. Night time. . . . side of the road. . . . middle of the road. . . . depends on traffic. #2 is not an issue; always at home.

Well, just sayin', in order to be relaxed, alert, one must be free of the vexations of our daily necessities.
read...poo and pee.
When I ride, my complete and undivided attention is solely focused on riding.

as an older man the night time sleep interruptions to pee happens. not a problem in the house as the bathroom is down the hall. same when traveling ,gas stations here are open and their bathrooms (washing your hands should be a normal part of your pre C-19 pandemic training ) are also. middle of no where and the stomach is not liking the gas station burrito . well having some trees around is a great help. I've seen some places out west where its flat and treeless and if you walked a mile they could still see your big white ass (assuming one is white ) . a friend suggested putting a sack over your head theory being you cant see them they cant see you.... that's a bit dicey , I know my friends and I can hear them laughing and ive not even done this yet.... now at camp and I'm tent camping and its cold and I forgot the gatoraid bottle ,now what . and the bathroom is never close to the tent area . well usually its dark and most are in their tents so I just walk out from my tent aways and let nature fly. just #1.
as for normal out on a long ride and I need to use the bathroom , where ever you go , you got to shed all your gear . jacket ,pants hemet , gloves . that takes time . and if you're buddies are waiting ... good news is there are how many people in the world , 7 billion (not sure of the actual estimate but a lot of people ) and everyone of them is going to take a dump today. somewhere.

#1 find a tree
#2 I am guilty of occasionally starting the day with a coffee and taking an Imodium before longer trips to fend off the often unwanted second BM of the day in the middle of a ride (I never do this more than once)
moist wipes, hand sani and trying not to poop in the woods are in my SOP

Like @Madhatter said, getting all that gear off, (especially if I am wearing my MX gear on "gnar" or really hot days) is a pain.

One of the joys of riding solo: Stopping to take a dump, without waiting riding buddies. I guess I’m kind of shy that way.

Wet wipes and a trowel are your friends. Nothing worse than being outdoors walking around and seeing toilet paper behind everything. Bury your job.

I take a lot more pictures when riding solo too. I don’t want to hold anyone up.

Agreed! This really bothers me. Sure, I don't carry my camp shovel all the time. But I do carry a lighter, and will (carefully) burn TP.

I've done only a couple of road trips over the past year and have had to go into an establishment en route maybe once? If I think I might have to go inside, I will aim for a truck stop. *Usually* they are cleaner than gas stations / 7-11s, have larger cubic foot interiors, and fewer people per square foot.

I thought Id seen threads for everything
This one is King....should be crowned!
One of the realities of long distance riding. Sooner or later you have to go. Nice to hear how others deal with this. Eating camping food or questionable gas station food can produce serious side effects. And when you got to go....

McDonald’s is soul food. It’s important to feed the soul. Fried Spam is also soul food.

I am one of those weird (possibly crazy) white boys that wishes that there was a place on the side of the road on long trips where I could stop and get a bowl of Dinuguan (I have number Pinoy friends that don't even eat this...), some Sisig, maybe a little Crispy Pata/Lechon Kawali.

I rarely used to cook when I lived in Thailand as the street food and cheap restaurants were so good. But I rarely eat out in the Philippines as regular streetfood and cheap restaurants are generally subpar.

In Thailand their mindset is that food is medicine as well as something nutritious and tasty. Here in the Philippines I find that everything boils down to price. If there is a stall selling real good quality sisig, but competing next to a sisig stall selling an inferior product 50 cents cheaper, the cheaper stall gets the business. Approaching from a quality in/quality out frame of mind is why there is little variation in common dishes on offer in Thailand. The standard remains the same. If it is not quality, they go out of business. It is the same when you visit the food markets - Thais would not buy a lot of what the markets sell here as it is often unfresh. Rice? Philippines exports their best and imports poor quality product. Oddly, they have the best research and rice seed bank in the world.

If I eat local, I will generally eat soup based dishes like tinola, sinigang, etc, as they are generally consistent and there is less crappy oil. At home, mongo is a regular, but we generally eat, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, etc as they are less one-dimensional in flavour profile.

Never eaten dinuguan, but if i see something that looks edible I will give it a go as it looks richer and herbed. We did have pandesal today, but homemade with butter. Came out like bish bosh brioche. Sisig is something I have eaten when lasing (p*ssed) and crispy pata/lechon kawali is understandably popular. Who doesn't like pig? Except those that have never eaten it.
