I sat on the Diavel at last years moto show in Dallas. I love that bike and would like to have one. But I'm currently at my (wife's) limit with the three bikes that I have.

My other bike is a 2002 XR400R. I picked it up to learn dirt before the Tenere showed up.

It's used for dual sporting (we have a good local group) and some single track (it's nice having 2 sets of rims!). I have to say I prefer the "wander around and get lost" aspect of dual sporting to the "oh sh*t a tree/ sand/ something" of single track (it's my first year in the dirt).

Do you have a plate on this bike? we can't plate these in Iowa.

Of course I have a plate on the bike ::024::

When I bought it the PO had already installed a dual sport kit. I got the paperwork done, quick police inspection and voila, plated! (I guess that's one good thing about living in Michigan)

Lots of cool stuff ^^^ getting posted in this thread. 8)

As for my current bikes, I had sold off most everything to make room for the Tenere, but got ants in my pants for a small dual sport in May and purchased a new left over 2009 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa that my dealer had on their showroom floor. Ugly thing, with the retro low front fender and olive-drab, but it’s been an awesome little trail bike.

My other remaining motorcycle is a 1974 Harley (Aermacchi) SR100 Baja that I purchased from a guy in Alpharetta, Georgia about a year and a half ago in basket-case condition. If you’ve ever followed Rick Siemen (of “Don’t Ask” fame) he has a list of the Top 10 Worst Dirt Bike of All Time and the Baja is on his list. However, I’m old enough to have drooled over these on the showroom floors when I was a kid back in the early 70s and dammit, I thought I should finally get one. Oh, and a funny thing, I’m also a former owner of a 1974 Yamaha SC500A, also on Rick’s list...he was definitely right on that one.

This is what it looked like when I got it…

I like both of those bikes, but then again I liked the old SAAB cars too. Nice work on the Harley.
I love SAABs...had a 9-5 until I wrecked it. Always liked that look; damn were parts expensive for that car! I would have liked to have got another back then but I got a Tundra instead. :)

I traded my FZ for the Tenere, but at least both are blue and the Tenere doesn't have a beak. ::008:: I still have an '08 WR250R for rock bashing (ask Venture if I'm making that one up) and a '78 DT400, plus a rotary valve Yamaha 100cc single in the shed awaiting rebuilding/reassembly. I'm at the point in life where I've begun to consolidate, so the past menagerie of two wheeled toys got thinned. I was up to eight at once a few years back. And that was just the assembled ones. Then I went on a low carb diet, and now I'm mostly a FI bike guy.

I'm actually considering adding a Zuma 125 to the group: I think it would be a real hoot around here. But it has to be blue, too. Otherwise, it might be beat up, bullied or eaten if another color. You know how tribes/packs are.....
