Small tail bag recommendations?

Hey guys. I'm looking for a small tail bag that I can strap to the tail rack - something I can throw my wallet, sunglasses, couple bottles of water, smokes, etc... in. I have a Cortech 2.0 magnetic tank bag now, but I've never liked tank bags.

Any recommendations? I'm not looking for anything big, and I don't need a drybag-type (although water resistant would be nice) - just looking to replace my tank bag.

Thanks!

I use a Harbor Freight black canvas tool bag, and a couple of bungees. For exactly the purpose you're describing. I throw a zippered freezer bag, in the tool bag for the off chance I get caught in the rain. It has a hard bottom, squashes flat, cheap as hell, and can carry two 4-pc tender meals from Chicken Express. :D I am a function over form kinda' guy.

I was definitely considering something similar. I'm also more concerned about function, but I'd also like to pick up some style as well if I can. :)

Or, you can go the route my kids use; back pack. My sons are regular human size and they say the back packs are comfortable. I couldn't find one that fits right.

See if the Slipstream is still available through Twisted Throttle. It's a perfect fit.

I got the factory Yamaha City tank bag - it is made by SW-Motech.

Really love it... sometimes it is not enough... but that because i'm trying to add too much.

Side pockets are pretty useless but ok for tire pressure pen and lighters etc.
When standing this bag does not get in my way - my mate had a big tank bag and it always was slopping around and it got in the way of our bellies and crouch as it was more focused on the back slope of the tank ranther than on top - pretty silly design.

I like it as it is not too big.
Also comes with a carry strap. Tank bag just pops off and you can take it all with you into sjops etc. I wrap the carry strap around the bag and it is hidden until i want it.

I like my Oxford 'Sports' that can expand, just enough for spare gloves, 1 litre water bottle a few tools in a case and room to spare, it the then expands to double height should I need to buy stuff. Side pockets are good for visor spray, zip ties and lead for my heated gloves. Not sure if you can get the Oxford brand in the US though, but GIVI do similar stuff.

I’m curious why you don’t like tankbag ? I would hate to give mine up !
It's definitely convenient (which is why I'm not interested in giving a bag up altogether), but I don't like having a bag on the tank - I think it makes the lines of the bike look too bulky and boxy. It's such a great looking bike that I hate to break up the appearance. Also not a fan of having the bag right in front of me like that - it's hard to explain, but it's a little distracting.

Never been a fan of backpacks, personally. I don't need to carry much (and if I do, I've got the panniers for that) - just need some small storage that's easy and convenient to get into.

The Wolfman Wolf tail bag is perfect size for the rack, and attaches in about 5 seconds using the bungees that are part of the bag. It's expensive and the bungees need some mods, but it's perfect.

Yup. I'm a cheep skate; $7 tool bag and 2 bungees. And to me, one bag is as ugly as any other. ;)

I should add that the Oxford unit comes with a 'base' that straps to the rack and that will unzip from the tailpack for easy removal and converts into a backpack for carrying, it's really quite handy and water/rain resistant.
