I was looking at spending several hundred dollars on a new seat. After I leveled the seat out, by changing the rubber grommets as found on this forum, and put on this sit & fly seat cover I have no saddle soreness from a 4 day trip. it looked weird at first, and the thing doesn't hold water like a sponge like I expected it to. I think the ventilation and the lack of friction make this thing work. for $25 I thought I would give it a try and im glad I did. I highly recommend this product and will be purchasing one for every bike I have in the future.

I have one and like it as well. I like the ventilation during the hot summer months. And yes rain goes right threw it, so you're not sitting in a puddle.

How long were your days on your 4 day trip? Hours/miles, for reference.

Thanks for doing a review. I've seen these, but never tried one.

I've had one for 2 years now, it replaced a nice sheepskin on my Corbin saddle. You really can feel the air flow under your ass on a hot day (unlike the sheepskin)......it's great! I just did a 2 week 4000+ mile trip on mine, averaged 300 miles/9 hours per day in the saddle and can say that I experienced no soreness, hot spots, etc. Definitely worth a few bucks to try it.

I was in the saddle for 6-8 hrs a day and did about 300 miles a day. mostly curvy roads through WV, one day was almost all freeway. I took 5-10min breaks every hour or two

I believe it is listed specifically for the ST. The spec size fits my seat by Bill Mayer; not sure how much larger a Russell is.

Lot's of sizes available for the Sit and Fly. Which one is the right one?
They didn't have one for the Super Tenere when I got mine a few years ago. I think he sent me the GS version. I stapled and trimmed it to fit. I didn't cover the passenger seat.

What parts of WV and what route did you take down from Detroit? I was in Athens, OH for a few years and rode over to WV quite often - Parkersburg area usually, or heading further east toward Maryland.

I've been using a sit n fly for 2 summers. It's a relief on the crack sweat and just right on the ass traction. If you trim it so it doesn't cover the back seat. It won't fray. Only takes about 10 staples.

I threw the bike in the back of a friends pickup to get to lexington KY. Then I rode from lexington ky to lebanon va damascus va to tazewell va to fayetteville va to spruce knob to marietta oh to akron and back up to detroit. it was a lot of winding and ups and downs. oh 555 was intensely hilly, it felt like a roller coaster.

did you have one that frayed? was it just the section on the passenger seat that frayed? was it loosely fastened?

The complaint with my Corbin seat is it’s to slippery, do you think a Sit & Fly seat cover would resolve the slippery issue ?

Nice! I love Damascus, VA area for it's scenery and wonderful smaller roads along various small creeks and rivers. Everyone told me about 555 in Ohio but I was never a fan. Curvy roads as found in TN/NC/GA/VA are wonderful, nice switchbacks, cambered corners, etc. 555 was just an up and down roller coaster as you said, and I hated the fact that for much of it you never knew which way the road was going to veer once you hit the top of the peak.
