I’m an ex backpacker too. But I decided on a little more luxury now that my bike will be carrying it..Wow you guys take half the house I am used to backpacking so my gear is very small, light and minimal in comparison to some. About 10-12Kg. I only have food for one day however am not going off road anywhere so don't need supplies just the stove etc.View attachment 81631
Hey, nice set up. Are those Jesse Odyssey panniers or some other model? From my latest 3 day trip.
I'll use the same set up for an upcoming 8 day trip to Colorado.
I want to keep everything in the boxes, nothing on the seat

Niiice!! I have decided that it’s OK for everyone to pack (or load) their ADV bike the best way that suits them. I love seeing (on this site) all the different iterations of the same objective: getting out and riding, seeing new things, meeting new people and roaring down new (or familiar) paths to tomorrow. Keep ridin’!Jeeez do you think you may have forgotten something there ?
That's the 2017 non-ES factory color (Sandstone).Wow! I love the paint/wrap. I just turned over 60,000 miles on my 2012 Tenere (impact Blue) and I’m thinking of doing a refresh/update to all the plastics. Can you give me a little detail about where you got that done work and whether it’s a wrap or a paint job and kind of an approximate price range. I’m in Northern California but can travel anywhere to get this type of thing done, if the situation is right. Way to go !
This is correct. Even though it's a stock color, I love it.That's the 2017 non-ES factory color (Sandstone).
Started packing down with the hiking gear too. It’s takes practice though to learn what you don’t need and sometimes extra $$$ for the small/lightweight stuff.Wow you guys take half the house I am used to backpacking so my gear is very small, light and minimal in comparison to some. It’s just taken me 1 hour and three views of the YouTube video to learn how to pack my jetboil up! I doubt if I’ll remember it by the time I get to use it again this Friday…Started packing down with the hiking gear too. Started out with a $49 Coleman tent and used it for 3 years+. Worked well but definitely wasn’t small when it was packed up.
Really? I’ve never noticed!I know that in the Uk, it’s driven by the opposite hand to mine, is that why the deflectors are reversed?

I’ve just had to rush out in the garage and check!! Thanks jlq1969, you were spot on! Swapped back again now. When I looked closer it was kinda obvious really….unless it’s something to do with the prevailing wind coming from a different direction in the UK?I know that in the Uk, it’s driven by the opposite hand to mine, is that why the deflectors are reversed?

I really try to pack light. It is just too darn difficult with my "must haves" on any kind of trips that take me far from home. . Motorcycle cover, spare tubes, jumper box, tools, lifting winch, air compressor, tire repair kit, 2 liters of fuel, 2 liters of oil, 4 liters of water and first aid kit. All these items take up quite a bit of room. I also have 75' or so of climbing rope, pulley, lots of good carabiners and smaller rope for a self arresting prussic knot. I keep a quick reference card for knot tying along with the kit.Wow you guys take half the house I am used to backpacking so my gear is very small, light and minimal in comparison to some.
