Here's mine.

It worked but not that great. A little challenging to mount/dismount with the tent and sleeping mat strapped on.
Definitely won't work with 2up riding/camping.

SO, I'm either looking for a tent that fits in the paniers or another solution when riding 2up.

What you got??

Here's mine. A few weeks ago the our local ADV/ dual sport group did a 2 day weekend ride. My tent is in the left pannier along with extra riding gear. The right holds clothes, sleeping bag and pillow. Pelican top box for camera, electronics, maps, etc. The sleeping mat is strapped behing the seat (blue roll).

Martel, that is why I did not buy the top box. Takes up too much space. Remove the top box, install a larger rear rack, haul the camping gear behind the pillion rider. You can install Pad Eyes on the lids and/or J Hooks on the side cases to strap camping gear. If you use stainless steel hardware and fasteners it will look very professional and make the side cases more useful.

Another way to mount a motorcycle is to stand on the right peg and step over the seat.

The bags are Micatech V2 bags. The left one is 8" (37 litres) and the right one is 10" (45 litres). I added the "roof racks" as well which allow items to be strapped to the top of the panniers.

I have an older version of the Eureka Apex 2XT tent http://store.eurekatent.com/apex-2xt. I carry the tent, foot print, tools and extra gear (rain pants, gloves) in the 8" pannier. My moto-camp trips do not include cooking. I hit up restaurants for breakfast and dinner and carry a snacks/ drinks for rest stops.

The top box is a 1550 Pelican case. It has 12V plugs inside for charging on the fly as well as a supplemental running/ brake light on the back. I also have rings mounted on the top to strap more crap on if necessary.

Strap the tent to the top of the right panier and the sleeping pad to the top of the left panier to free up the passenger seat.

Did you give any thought to strapping the yellow bag in-line across the rear seat and rack, and then strapping the black and green bags on top of the panniers? That load looks destined to shift forward on you. I hate it when that happens.

you can't really see it but the yellow dry bag has a yellow cam lock laced through the rack. It's not moving at all. The cargo net is for the small stuff.

All my camping gear fits in a wolfman medium duffle. Tent, mattress, Kermit chair, sleeping bag and pillow. Not much in my panniers, few cloths, helmet visor, small tire pump and maybe my Darien over pants when not in use. I strap the wolfman duffle down with two rok strap. Nothing moves and it's good weight placement. Pannier lids can be opened without moving anything. I use a cargo net to hold my camel bak on the wolfman.

BTW that's my roadcrafter one piece laid on the riders seat. It was warm that day and I did not waste any time coming out of it before taking the pic.

Very nice. Roy, would it be asking too much... the next time you load your Tenere you lay the items next to the bag or box they will be stored in and take pictures? I will be loaded for camping as you are. Are you using the rear seat? If not did you lower the the rear rack? One of the Tenereistas was nice enough to send me two flat bottom duffles that fit perfectly on top of the side cases.

The wolfman duffle is 24" long. The kermit chair is 23". The tent I use is an old Kelty 2 man packs down very good maybe 20" long bye 8" round but very cushy like a pillow. The mattress I use is a twin air sold at wal-mart. I can't sleep on those small thin ones because I have had 4 broken collar bones. It packs down rather small when deflated. My sleeping bag is the only space consumer at this time and I plan on replacing it soon. It's an igloo mummy 25 degree and I put it in last on top of the other stuff mashed as flat as I can get it. It is in a stuff sack to get it small. I also carry a pump to air up said mattress. It is not that small but works and fits on the end inside the bag. The wolfman bag is nice with end synch straps and two over the middle synch straps which can get the package down small. I use the small left pannier for a few cloths mostly undies, socks and "T"s as for jeans they take up a lot of room so I usually don't pack to many pair maybe two pair for a 4-5 day trip and if longer stay somewhere to wash them. Right side pannier is riding basics, darien over pants for rain use or cool weather I don't wear them all the time. Pair of flip-flops, clear helmet visor, small tire pump for gravel roads, lighter gloves if needed. Tank bag has my phone, charger, flashlight and small items. I use the back seat all the time since I have a Altrider tail rack and to use the low position I would have to take the hand rails off so that means I would have to add washers to my pannier racks, just does not mean that much to me. I prefer the seat on. The wolfman is held on by two rok straps. These things work great and make easy access to the bag if need be. I have been camping off a bike for years and learned to take the bare minimum and it works for me. I can take a little propane lantern with gas cylinder in my right pannier but most the time I leave it at home and just use my flashlight to set up in the dark or break down. Over this winter I plan to get even more compact with smaller sleeping bag, mattress and smaller tent. I can camp off the bike for several days like this with no problems.

I use the same setup on my DR650. Only I turn the duffle bag around to rest on top rack. I can do this on the DR because the lids on the HT panniers will still open unlike the S10. Either way is just as good. The bag is a little higher up on the DR due to a Givi top plate attached to the HT top rack and I have the HT top rack in high position to keep my taillight from slapping it on gator back gravel roads. The wolfman explorer duffle is the best piece of gear I have ever bought for a motorcycle. I used to do top cases but not anymore.
