I tried Terry's, Seat Concepts and a Corbin. The Terry's was a keeper and a deal. He had a core so you can keep riding till he sends you your new seat.

I can vouch for his seats too, I have a short inseam he lowered me about an inch still uber comfortable. Got both mine and the pillion done at the same time totally worth the wait on the waiting list and the month of not being able to ride. We did the break in miles then immediately did a two up Iron Butt ride. 18hrs and 1040 miles later aside from being tired as all hell we both could have ridden another 1k miles neither the fiance or myself were even remotely sore or tender. In fact we woke up the following day and agreed over breakfast that we needed to do another, no way I would have attempted that ride on the factory seat.20190820_192947.jpg20190820_193013.jpg

That seat looks very similar to the Russell day long seat. Is it constructed the same?

Can't say I've never had an RDL but I think the two are very similar, I'm sure someone here can answer that though.
I have never owned an RDL but I have come close to ordering one and did lots of research. Russell mentions having a suspension in the wings because if you are over 230 or 240 pounds, you have to pay more for the heavy duty suspension. Terry states that he uses a very dense foam in the wings.
I've currently got a Seat Concepts which is a huge step up from stock but not perfect. Last year, I did a 6,000 mile trip that was all back roads with lots of long days. I did it but there were days when my tush wasn't 100% happy. I'm looking forward to getting my Terry Adcox seat. I wish that I had heard of him years ago.

Yah I don't think he uses a suspension, I can tell you my previous bike had a seat concepts and it vs the Terry's is night and day. SC was basically a a bit wider and different foam still not great. The Terry's is like a custom molded pillow for your ass, I can't find another way to describe it, it's just as comfortable as sitting in my Laramie all day.

I had a RDL on my FJR, another super seat.

Is the Adcox similar, yes as far as the bucket shape but I think the RDL is more formed like sitting in a bucket, if that makes sense. Compare the two side by side.
The quality is a step up with the RDL, imo. More fabric options and patterns with the Russell. Long term wear is yet to be known I guess but both are very well made.

The key is the support these style of seats give you and the foam used in the seat.

I would have liked leather and the checker board pattern that my FJR Russell had but I feel the comfort level is very close to equal, with the RDL having a slight edge. The cost and being made in my backyard sold me on the Adcox and I don’t regret anything.
