For those of you like my wife that just can't wear a full face helmet I thought I would share a little info about the new Shoei J Cruise 3/4 helmet.
Bought my wife a red one that arrived this week from Cycle Gear for about $430.
This helmet is sweet !
Basically it is like my Neo Tech with out the chin guard.
Same removable plush interior. Same speaker pockets ect.
Has the flip down sun screen and and is Pin Lock ready but you will have to wait for the insert that is purchased seperatly. I learned it is not the same insert as my Neo as I bought one and it does not fit. I called Shoei and they are going to e-mail me with news about availability. I now have an extra insert for my Neo but that's ok.
Any way this helmet is very nice with the same inside so you can add your Scala Rider headset.
Well vented and the wife is happy with a red J Cruise to match her new 2012 FZ6R.

Thanks for the insight.. I'm thinking of getting one as well for those hot days in the summer and trips to Florida. If you don't mine what was the noise level like compared to other open faced. They say that lip on the bottom of the face shield limits noise and turbulence.

Thanks

Sorry but I'm not going to be much help on this yet. The helmet is for my wife so I have not worn it at speed. That said she switched from a cheap Fulmer helmet so not a true apples to apples compairison. She likes the new plush interior but has not rode with it yet. I will update my report after she gets out on the FZ6R with it on if the weather will ever cooperate.

Up date on noise level.
For what it is worth my wife says it is much quieter than her old helmet.
I am not surprised though as her old one was a cheap Fulmer 3/4.
Hope this helps

I had hoped the Multitec would be my commuting helmet for summer, but it's miserable. I may get a J-Cruise instead, but damn are they expensive.

I read your post on the Pin Lock thread about your Multi.
Mind you I have never worn a Multi Tech but I do know that my Neo is very cool and has the internal visor so you don't have to worry about that tinted pin lock anymore. I know they cost a ton of money but here is a guy selling a white one in the large size at a price close to a J-Cruise.

My main beef with the Multitec (and I should've done my research first) is they only use 2 shell sizes. I wear a XXL, so that puts me at a far extreme. As a result I did not get the excellent fit of my RF-1100 (5 shells sizes).

Is anyone with a monster pumpkin using the J-Cruise? How is it from an aerodynamic standpoint in the front seat of a S10?
