This front 804 is freaking loud much louder than the 705.
Took it out trailing and I am happy for what it does, on the highway so far after scrub not bad at all just noisy as all hell.
Taking it to Ouray fully loaded today will give update if I get back in one piece! >:D
Installed a set on my KLR and did not hear the front tire noise on the road. Off road has only been gravel and I was surprised how well the frontend held its line.

Wondering if there is a motorcycle weight and tire size difference that hides the noise? I bought a set of Mitas e-07 Dakar for the Tenere though have not installed them (yet).

Have a set coming my way! Excited to hear all the positive things about the 805/804's I was recently on 705's and they did great on the street but off-road just falling short to where i would like to be so going to be trying things on the opposite side of the spectrum now. My biggest problem was the front tucking or pushing out in the dirt and im only 2/32th worn from bran new tread depth. We have a lot of soft and light dirt/sand areas in Oklahoma so i'm thinking the change should be great! ::001::

Regretfully I was lazy and didn't write down my install miles, but I did a loaded 3300 mile road trip in July, maybe a thousand before the trip, and a couple thou since the trip, still got 2-3/32" on the rear, more on the front. Noisey as hell, but they have impressed me enough that I've got another set in the garage.

Don, I am impressed with the mileage you are getting. I did not think they would get more than 6,000 miles on a heavy Tenere. I installed a set on my KLR but have not tested them off road. I purchased the Mitas e-07 Dakar for the Tenere.

Surprised me too. I figured I was pushing my luck doing a 3k road trip on them. I think I'll replace the rear next week, along with a rotor and pads... I'll write down the numbers this time. ::010::

got less than 1000 on my rear, not happy at all, I doubt I will see 3000 out of it.
That's not good!
Mine are at close to 1500 and look like they are less than half done.
I will find out how long they last if I can keep the damn rear rim on the bike long enough, or have a job soon so I can buy gas.

Sounds like you "were" happy while racking up 1000 miles. You must ride that thing hard. Good man.

Here's the front after a long ride (6000+ miles) from NC to CO to WY and back.

I mounted the rear in Durango and it worked great, got me home and still has some life in it.

I guess you could say I ride it hard, all the miles came from the AR 5 rally. The K60 was on before that, did OK close to 5K. Might try a mitas after this one.

Wow, a lot of folks are getting in excess of 10,000 miles out of a K60... I know I got 14k, a buddy has gotten 16. In your case, I've gotta say, it's not any tire's fault that you're not getting any miles out of anything. ::26::

ya know I really dont know.................frustrated more than anything. I have never been a racer or competitive off road, I do OK. 42 yr old that has been riding since I was 12 or so. My friends beat me all the time in the woods. So from a tagged 450 to a DR650 to this beast. I love my ST, I had no idea how expensive it would be, some buyers remorse in the beginning while I was setting it up. Now I love it. My favorite bike!!!!!! My complaint, tires.......I got 16K and this is my 4 rear. WTF?????? The stock I get it, not good so I purposely road real hard. Then I had to buy another Torance ( I forget which one) as I was on a 10 dayer in NC. Then I ponied up for a K60. Now on the shinko........a buddy told me my 32 PSI was why the K60 died early. So I have been running this one at 38.

I am sure fellas I rode with will tell me I ride it hard but in the past 2 years I only rode TC2 unless it was slick ass muddy or doing a creek crossing. I gave up flat tracking the beast in hopes of extending my tire life.

Your not the only one but yes 1000 miles seems like a short life span.
I have never got over 6k out of a back tire no matter how easy I ride, the K60 may have lasted 6 or more but I just hated the feel and grip of that tire.
I take that back, had a set of Avons on my Tiger 1050 that I pulled close to 6.5k but in the end I stuck with the Shinko 009 Raven on the rear for $85.00 to $98.00 I could pull 5k out of them 4 if I rode like I stole it.
I am liking the 804/805 tires, predictable on high speed curves but all in all good tires. ::008::

So far I have put 1800 miles on the 805 rear and 804 front both starting to show some squaring.
I may get 4 to pushing it 5k out of the rear as I expected.
Can't vouch for the 804 on the stock 19" rim as I have a 21" front rim but it is not cupping at all like most of the tires I have put in the front.
Most of this has been around 85% highway riding, so far I like these rubbers absolutely predictable in the turns so I know what to expect unlike the K60 I had!!

Lets see as the miles accumulate before snow weather..

I pulled off my 3rd set of these bad boys and replaced them with the 704/705's. The front had 9,000mi and the rear just under 7,000mi. Front could have gone further but I was experiencing a low-speed hop that was buggin' me. Think it was the DynaBeads combined with the sawtooth wear down the center of the front tire. The bike was stable and rode well above 35mph but would shake the piss out of the bike when slowing or getting up to speed. The rear tire was not quite a slick in the middle but it wasn't going to be long before the last of the knobs wore out. I'm very happy with the durability of these tires and their capability. Biggest gripe is the noise and rough ride towards the end. YMMV.

For the guys getting >5k miles, what pressure do you run? I just spooned on a 805 rear along with a Mitas E-09 Dakar front and 33 psi seems low.

The sidewall says otherwise, but I'm at 38 rear, 35 front.

I've been running the Shinko 705 and can't believe the mileage I get out of them.

Only concern is the 705 rear, even new (only 500 miles) it will slip in the rain... I can gun it and completely break the tire free. not the case with the Metzler and Bridgestone.

Anyone know if the 805 has better traction than the 705 in rain on road?

I've got a couple of thousand miles on my rear 805 and I'm really happy with its performance on and off road. From triple digit highway sweepers to slippery/sticky/sandy dirt and gravel roads, it has exceeded my expectations.

One if the best changes compared to the BattleWings was a much improved ride. The 805 is much softer and I don't even feel a lot of the bumps and road imperfections I used to feel with the Bridgestones.

At just under $100 shipped its hard to beat.
