Anyone using these Tires? What kind of tire life are you getting out of them, What is you experience on Asphalt/offroad.
I have used the stalk trailwings on my Vstrom and I didn't like them for anything either than Asphalt. Dirt and Gravel they were horrid.
I used shinko 705 they were better, but im if the tread life is similar to the 705 im might go for the 804/804 because I do 50% dirt and gravel.

To me the 804/805 are better off pavement and almost as good on. I ran them when I had my Strom. I actually think they are the best tire out there for me , BUT , in my opinion they are too soft. I would rather run mitas dakar tires just for the toughness.

Any feedback regarding them being more prone to cuts or flats than other similar makes?
Sizes for our bikes look to be bias ply. A local rider just ordered a set in the 170/60-17 of the 804-805 and said they are a radial design.

I got about 3500 on the rear. I was surprised how well they did on pavement. I rode them on the Tail of the Dragon and never once felt limited by my tires. That might be more of a statement about my skills than the tires, but I'm not the slowest guy on the street.

For the money, they're a great value, IME. I have a pair in my garage right now that I put on for the Tellico Plains rally - saving them rest of their miles for something other than Florida highways.

I have about 7000 km on mine right now and should get another season out of them easy. I will replace them with more when needed.

I totally blast on them 100% off road and I ride hard in the twists and turns of East Tennessee. I tend to ride more normal on public roads. I still rip up all twisted roads.
I will buy more sets. ( stock size )

I'm seriously considering a set of these for the MABDR, especially since Mitas changed to the E07+. I've been reading a lot about substantially decreased longevity with the E07+, and the longevity was one big reason I bought the E07 (I have about 9000 miles on the set right now). If I need a decent off-pavement tire, and the E07+ is only getting around 4000 miles (as I've read in some accounts), I'd rather spend about half the cost of the Mitas and buy the Shinkos. I'm a big fan of the Shinko 705, and that's the tire I run most of the time. I put the Mitas on because it was one tire I figured would take me to Utah and back this past summer without a tire change along the way, which it did.

Similar like a TKC80, Kenda Big Block, etc. about the same. Softish sidewalls and same number of plies.

But no comparison to Mitas Dakar or Heidenau. I've had 3 sets of 804/805 (total~20k miles) and plenty of flats. Not a single tire worn out without a string plug in it. One of the flats air loss caused an almost immediate bead pop off the rim. Scary stuff on a steep twisty mountain road.

Since then I've been running exclusively Mitas Dakars. 100k miles and only a single flat. That was from a hyperdermic needle for cattle. Tire didn't stand a chance. Don't think you could find a sharper object on the road and definitely not an.object creating a more perfect passageway for air to exit the tire.

Interesting Ive not heard that about them. What were the punctures from? Ive taken a couple nails but not tire would survive that. I'd say I'm a solid 50/50 rider, and the stalk trail wings were awful on loose gravel.

Nail, screw, slice from sharp rock off road. Other times nothing remaining stuck in tire so unknown road debris. Always easy to plug and go though. And even the popped bead I got seated again with a portable Slime pump with assistance from tire heat, my hands massaging and Rok straps. Definitely could never do that with a Mitas but then again I would never need to do that.

But performance wise I loved the Shinko's. Just not the safety and reliability aspect. Mitas are a better value also due to their longevity.

I have them on my S10. But this is my first set and I have no idea yet about their longevity. Almost 3000 miles on them so far and the front looks great. Rear looks about 50%. They have been solid in all conditions. They are solid on wet and dry pavement, as well as the dirt.

I have them too. They were an experiment to see if I could live with a 600lbs dirt bike. That experiment was a success, but I think I will go with something a little stouter in construction next time. A couple of hundred miles in rocky terrain, and they are cut up pretty bad, with one puncture directly in the middle of the tire. It was fixable (just), but a couple of extra plies certainly wouldn't hurt. Wear is ok (1500 miles on them, back will likely get another 2k or so), noise is low, lower than the Anakee 3 that was on it previous...

If you are budget sensitive, I figure the it's the best value out there...20181222_171506.jpg

I got about 6-7k miles out my set. If my brand new, ready to install Mitas Dakar's (front & rear EO7+) wind up getting such poor mileage as stated above I'll go back to the 804/805's. I liked them better than the 705's for 50/50 riding in Colorado.

I've gotten 8-9 out of a rear on average. I've ran 3 sets. The front pairs well with the orginal mitas Dakar also

Just ordered a set from American Moto Tire
Front Shinko 705 110/80R-19 $74.67
Rear Shinko 705 150/70R-17 $83.37
Great price shipped to my door.
I have the EO7 on now at 12,000 + miles see pictures attached. They were very good tires

So have they started making a Radial in our size? At Rocky Mountain MC they show 2 listed at our size....one with an R which I believe should indicate Radial ( Not talking about the 69R load and speed rating)

I just check mine and mine doesn’t have the R. And load is 69Q

Yes ,the Shinko has just recently started offering the E804/E805 tire in a radial. Previously, Michelin Anakee Wilds were the only big block tire made in radial. This is really good news. Radials can be run with ridiculous low pressures with no fear of bead separation due to heat or odd tire wear. I have been running my Anakee Wilds at 32/36 for everything. I'm really curious as to the durometer rating is.

You do have to use caution when getting below 25psi on these big bikes so as not to do rim damage or losing the bead.
