I think Sierra1 deleted his post, and did a new ;)
So now my post #22 don't make sense (And you know, I can't edit post anymore:oops:)
The picture I'm referring to is of course Sierra1's picture with the big rocks on top of small ones.

You are correct. I posted it, went back a couple minutes later to edit it. . . . and decided it would be easier to re-do. I'm guessing, now, that while I was editing, the original must have still been visible. I always assumed that the post was pulled while editing.

It was about a 100 miles to the pharmacy and back today. :dunno:

The roads sucked and the scenery was horrible.

Footnote: past pics from atop the Allegheny Front are looking down into the valley shown here. North Africa gave North America a little shove back in the day, folding the earth to form the Front (seen in the backgrounds above). The valleys were under the ocean and vast limestone deposits (Karst) were formed on the sea floor. The rolling rich soil of these valleys is grazing livestock heaven. The Front was a might higher in those days. It has since worn away to the west considerable over a day or two forming the Allegheny Plateau and draining to the Ohio River. West Virginia geography lesson concluded.

Yeah, that goat path at the top is still smoother than most of the secondary roads I travel. I never realized how bad our roads really were. . . . until I see pictures of other states.

Sounds like you need a full knobby dirtbike!
Is it really that bad over there?

The roads are paved, but not smooth/level. The North gets frost heaves. We have ground shift, depending on how much rain we get. Case in point, we can't have basements due to ground shift. And, with our heat, they would be great in the summer. My son with the FJR refuses to ride the same roads I use due to their condition. They've really gone down hill with all the semi traffic due to gas well fracking. Our main roads aren't too bad, but the secondaries. . . .
