edit , just got it fingered out.

ok just went out and played with it, here's what i did,

put it on center stand

held tcs and reset buttons down while turning key on

held buttons down for 8 seconds

ecu AND SCU options came up, using tcs button i scrolled to highlight scu

pressed both buttons down again,

screen then read just DIA so i pressed both buttons again

had several screens of codes and numbers,

using tcs button i scrolled through them

when it read 84 on the top i pressed both buttons again and the preload adjustment started to raise the bike, it went all the way up then down,

error light went out

shut off key

turned key back on and no more code

this was all by pure trial and error, i have no idea what all the numbers stand for ,

maybe someone could sticky this under "how to re-home suspension" ...?

You both had 2015ES's that needed new batteries already?? WTF!!!

My 2012 standard's battery died during the first year but I was over the mileage so no warranty! Usually they don't want to warranty a battery anyway but when they die that soon I think it should be replaced under warranty.

Did either of you try to get the battery replaced under warranty?
Hello!
I am on my third Yuasa battery in 4 years. Apparently there is a pretty strong parasitic drain somewhere in the SCU but the questions is exactly where. Has anybody encountered this issue?

Thanks!

Dealership reset suspension and checked amp draw on accessories. I have aux lights, gps, and extra plug in tank bag for phone charging, which are wired thru a fuse block. These are only powered with key on and they tried to cite these for the malfunction but with less than 4 amps draw it is not the issue. Ensured battery tested good and could've been due to leaving key on too long at water break. Eventually replaced the suspension control unit under warranty. No issues since.
Hello! I have a 2015 ES and am on my 4th battery in 7 years. My mechanic did a bunch of testing and thought that replacing the SCU might be the fix. I read your post that you did replace the SCU. Did that fix it for good? Thank!

Yuasa batteries are characterized by having a very low “self-discharge”, but this self-discharge is also related to the level of use (or level of charge)… .if it goes a long time without recharging… .or short charging cycles and then stopped for a long time ... that level of self-discharge deteriorates or rather, it loses the ability to retain the charge (that's what the battery maintainers are for, they always have it “hot”) Another point to consider is, You say Yuasa…. but "which" Yuasa. there are Yuasa originals and Yuasa "imitations". You should check this

This just happened to me. Confusing as heck scrolling through the fault codes. Some with just top number, some with bottom and top, some that say "On", some say "Off". How the heck did you guess that "84" on top was the one you'd work with? I'll head out to my bike tomorrow and try this. I have a 2016 ES. Will this work on mine, you know?

I put a power cutter like this in mine, in the negative cable. I had a month without ride and the battery is charged as if I had used it yesterday

I have something similar installed on my bike by its previous owner. It seems to get corroded and randomly cutting power. Hence I am planning to get it undone. Did you experience any similar issues?

Great Thread!! I just had to have the bike towed back home becase my Battory died. It was an original battory and lasted 5 years on my 2017 Tenere so I was lucky and bought the same battory again. I put the new battory in and this code came up on me also. I went through the procedure at the begining of this thread and the suspension went up and down and the light cleared. Thanks you toadady

I recently serviced the rear suspension and attempted to run diagnostic code 84 as prescribed in the service manual. The procedure in the manual is as described in this post. However, when scrolling through the list, my 2014ES did not go higher than 83 before scrolling back to 01. I wonder, does the system need to "throw a code" for the 84 to be available?

same code 44 error after my battery died , so I dropped off the bike to the Honda dealer who recharged my battery (and didn't check the error, shame on him).
I copy/pasted/translated the @toadady "manual" hope that will fix the issue.

went the lithium route been much stronger. Hope it’s like my scooter battery. 10 years never failed to start, never put on a charger and stored outside in MD. Don’t mind paying for less drama and longevity. Added bonus it’s lighter.
