2015 ES.
Battery died so push started.
Now have error code 44 with the shock warning light on.
Unable to access any suspension settings via the menu toggle switches.
Any ideas on this?

edit , just got it fingered out.

ok just went out and played with it, here's what i did,

put it on center stand

held tcs and reset buttons down while turning key on

held buttons down for 8 seconds

ecu AND SCU options came up, using tcs button i scrolled to highlight scu

pressed both buttons down again,

screen then read just DIA so i pressed both buttons again

had several screens of codes and numbers,

using tcs button i scrolled through them

when it read 84 on the top i pressed both buttons again and the preload adjustment started to raise the bike, it went all the way up then down,

error light went out

shut off key

turned key back on and no more code

this was all by pure trial and error, i have no idea what all the numbers stand for ,

maybe someone could sticky this under "how to re-home suspension" ...?

You both had 2015ES's that needed new batteries already?? WTF!!!

My 2012 standard's battery died during the first year but I was over the mileage so no warranty! Usually they don't want to warranty a battery anyway but when they die that soon I think it should be replaced under warranty.

Did either of you try to get the battery replaced under warranty?

mine's a '14, BUT i had the gps circuit of the fuzblok on constant power, and my son said he seen the gps was on the other day, so i think it ran the battery down.

Dealership reset suspension and checked amp draw on accessories. I have aux lights, gps, and extra plug in tank bag for phone charging, which are wired thru a fuse block. These are only powered with key on and they tried to cite these for the malfunction but with less than 4 amps draw it is not the issue. Ensured battery tested good and could've been due to leaving key on too long at water break. Eventually replaced the suspension control unit under warranty. No issues since.

I had the same 044 and suspension fault code after jump starting the battery on my 2014 S10 ES and it worked perfectly! Thanks! ::015::

This just show the high risk of bump starting modern bikes with their complex electronics & that's without canbus complications on Super 10s.

Frankly, the simple answer is don't do it unless you are stranded & have absolutely no alternative for recovering the situation. Re-charge the battery if you can, or fit a new one, & give the systems a chance. ECU's don't come cheap.

Clearly some have Navs & other devices wired direct to the battery effectively. Unless you ride daily, without fail all year, this is just asking for trouble IMHO. Then, while you are under the RHS cover, fit a fused pigtail for a battery tender icon - you know it makes sense. Just sayin!

I put a power cutter like this in mine, in the negative cable. I had a month without ride and the battery is charged as if I had used it yesterday

Must be more to it than just bump starting. I've had the engine occasionally stall on me (4-5 times since new now at 56K) whilst underway when pulling in the clutch, usually when decelerating or moving slowly in traffic. Since I'm still rolling along, I've always just feathered the clutch back out to restart the engine. No error codes experienced.

What you are doing is just fine. I was talking about the bike's battery being dead, or at least very low. IIRC the threshold for a clean start on most bikes these days is around 11.5v - that is sufficient to run up the ECU & bring in the essential systems for a start. S10s can have a hard start issue, on occasions, but bikes like BMWs, with their canbus complexity (ECUs & controllers communicating electronically) adds a further dimension.

Thank you! This solved my problem and was so much more satisfying than the owner's manual saying "take it to your Yamaha dealer". My ES error light came on after I did a jump start last month, and your instructions got the ES back to normal.

Toadady, Did what you suggested "ecu AND SCU options came up, using tcs button i scrolled to highlight scuut" only got a blank screen (small side of the dashboard) with DIAG (guessing Diagnostic) on the top left corner. However that screen was blank. Tried to use the toggle switch to follow your steps to no avail. Any idea how to get rid of that warning light if I cannot access the codes?
Cheers from the Islands!

It is a 2015...Purchased in Jacksonville Florida and brough it on Antigua (Caribbean Island where I reside).
Put it on the stand, press TCS and Reset for 8 seconds, brings me directly to DIAG but from there nothing that I tried gves me codes or way to clear them.
While I am trying this the Warning light do come off...but when I start the bike it comes back on. BIke start fine!

Are you holding the buttons down before turning on the ignition, then turning on the key while still holding the buttons down?
