I called the dealer in Burleson today. Parts on order & I'll ride up there when the weather cooperates. Should be a quick turn around according to service dept.

I never got a notice for my 14 which is covered under the recall

I received a call today that mine is ready to pick up.
Since it was snowing and single-digit temps today, I politely told them that I would wait until Tuesday to pick it up when it's warmer and sunny.

Burleson Power Sports is my shop too. Fantastic crew.

I received a second recall letter today. The first one showed applicable years as '18-'20. The second letter had an asterisk beside the applicable years; '14-'20. The asterisk note advised that the previous letter I had received showed incorrect years for the Tenere.

The shop in Waco which took on the Yamaha franchise is not on my list. I walked around inside when they first got Yamaha 15min or so without even a hello. Then stood at the counter while people talked on phone....when they hung up & started to walk away...I moved toward them & asked about a Tenere..... A what?

That did it for me

I just bought a 17 and the previous owner scanned the letter and emailed it to me. I haven't even gotten the bike registered in my state yet!

But the 1st generation doesn’t have cruise control, so why would this recall affect them?
because there were reports of front brake switch sticking on generation one as well, they Don’t have cruise control so it’s not as easily noticed But still should be recalled because it’s definitely a safety issue.

Yes I do believe they should also be recalling all the first generation as well for the same issue.
First gens have a much simpler switch, completely different part number to the Gen2. If there’s no history of issues (unlike the Gen2 switch) there would be no need to recall them. Obviously this is a component specific defect which the gen1 is not affected by.

Got my second letter in the mail today. Also stopped in the local shop and they are supposedly ordering the new switch.

Interesting the recall installed switch is only $13 part according the the invoice Alan posted, where the old switch was $75 or so.
